These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece

A single teak slab, doing the whole job.

The design is almost nothing, and that is the discipline. Our designers sized the shelf to carry a vessel basin at a comfortable height with no legs to clean around. An artisan selects each slab for figure, cuts it sixteen by eighteen inches, and seals it in waterproof and PU coats — solid teak, not a veneered box pretending to be one.

Small bathrooms punish clutter, and a legged cabinet just adds corners to mop around. Float the shelf and the floor runs clear underneath, the five-by-eight room reads larger, and the only furniture in sight is a plank of real teak. Renters take it to the next apartment; the wall changes, the shelf does not.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the full depth of the shelf face — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. Under bathroom light the low sheen reads warm, never the flat gloss of laminate.

The finish nature applied

Teak's oils sit under waterproof and PU coats with a light gloss — a surface made for steam and splash, with no lacquer smell to fill a small closed room. Water beads and wipes off in seconds.

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the slab carries a full vessel basin without flexing or creeping, even as shower humidity swings across the day.

Golden now, silver whenever

Sealed and indoors, the shelf keeps its honey tone through daily showers; teak only silvers under outdoor sun, never in a bathroom. If it dulls with the years, a light refresh brings the warmth back.

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

Each slab is pulled one at a time by a selector with decades at the lumber stacks, for tone and figure. Stock with twist, checks, or dull grain never makes the shelf.

The shaping process

The shelf is cut to dimension and to your chosen thickness, a hair proud of the line, leaving material for the handwork.

The hand refinement

Faces and edges are sanded through five successive grits until the front edge feels right against an open palm, not merely looks right.

The final inspection

Waterproof and PU coats go on and cure. The maker checks the slab for flatness and a complete seal before the shelf leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

Why teak for a wall-hung vanity shelf?

Because teak is the wood commercial spas and steam rooms are built from — its natural oils and silica handle wet air that swells and delaminates lesser wood. Solid throughout, it sands and re-seals for decades; a veneered shelf cannot survive one sand.

What is included, and what thickness options are there?

The price includes one wooden shelf only — no sink or faucet. The photographed shelf is 3.5 inches thick, with 2-inch and 2.76-inch options; message us for other sizes and thicknesses, since each is cut to order.

What does installation require?

A concealed steel hanging rail carries the shelf and must anchor into studs or solid blocking, not drywall alone. Plumbing uses standard US fittings, and most plumbers hang and hook up the shelf in under an hour.

How do I care for the finish?

Wipe standing water off after use and run the fan — black spots on bath teak are mildew feeding on soap film sitting on the surface, not the wood failing. The treatment keeps a light gloss; refresh it yearly in a daily-shower bath.

How is the shelf delivered?

Every shelf is made to order and packed with rail, hardware, and templates inside. Photograph the box before the driver leaves; tracking and a scheduled delivery window come on every order, and we make any transit damage right.
