Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? The makers choose each teak board for an edge worth keeping, shape and sand it by hand, then seal it with a waterproof finish for a room full of steam — solid teak all the way through, no veneer skin to lift at the wall where the water lands.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils — one reason it belongs near water. Here the surface also wears a waterproof coat, so the golden tone holds through daily steam and the wood never goes clammy in an August bath.

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half of oak's, the 3.5-inch slab hangs flat and true through a humid summer and a dry-heated winter alike.

The wood selection

The shaping process

The slab is cut slightly proud of its lines, the natural edge preserved and the faces left with material for handwork.

The hand refinement

Faces and edge are sanded through successive grits until the contour feels right against an open palm.

The final inspection

The waterproof finish goes on in thin coats, with extra sealer worked into the end grain. The maker checks flatness, sealing, and edge before the shelf is signed out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.
