These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly
Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Shipping & returns
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
A little piece of the countryside, parked in the shower.
Cut from solid teak — the dense, oil-rich hardwood that spends its life on ship decks and shrugs off water — the stool pairs farmhouse warmth with low mid-century lines. The workshop's job is subtraction: dry the boards in the kiln, sand every edge until it is kind to bare skin, and oil the surface rather than trap it under a film that would peel in steam.
The alternative is a white plastic stool that skids on tile and apologizes for itself. This one stands planted on adjustable feet, holds a knee through the weekly foot-scrub without sliding, then moves out to carry a fern or a stack of guest towels between showers. A small object — but the one piece in the bathroom its owner is quietly pleased to have chosen.

Grain from the tree
Every teak board shows tight, straight, even grain — the calm, golden figure drawn by the tree, not printed on a film. Under a wet palm it reads as faint, honest texture, warm and never slick.
Finished by hand
Instead of a film finish that would peel in steam, the seat is sanded and oiled by hand — warm to bare skin on a February morning, and renewable at home for as long as you own it.
Kiln-dried and joined
The boards spend twenty days in a temperature-controlled kiln until the moisture meter says done, and the joints are cut wood to wood — so daily steam followed by furnace-dry weeks never works the stool loose.
Built to be inherited
Where wet feet and folded towels land, the dense grain slowly burnishes into real patina — and if you ever want it new again, a short sanding and a wipe of oil take it straight back.
From plank to piece.
The wood selection
Teak boards are pulled one at a time for sound, oil-rich structure and quiet, even grain. Checked or twisted stock never makes the cut.
The shaping process
The low farmhouse profile is roughed out just outside the template line — the rest is given to rasp and sandpaper, edge by edge, by hand.
The hand refinement
Seat and legs are sanded through five grades of paper, each pass checked with a bare palm exactly where a bare foot will land.
The final inspection
Thin coats of finish are buffed in by hand. The maker sets the stool down, checks the stance and the adjustable feet, then signs it out of the workshop.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Questions customers usually ask
Is this stool safe to use inside a running shower?
Yes. Teak is the wood boatbuilders use on open decks — dense, oil-rich, and naturally water-resistant — and unlike wet-worn cedar it does not splinter. Its boards are chosen by selectors with thirty years at the stacks and kiln-dried for twenty days, so the wood has finished moving and will not warp in a steamy room. Let air reach it between showers and it serves for years.
Can the bench be sized to my shower stall?
Yes. Every stool is built after you order, so seat height and footprint match your stall or wet room. Send the alcove measurements and the glass-door swing, and clearance is confirmed before the first cut.
Does it need installation?
Shower benches arrive assembled with stainless, rust-proof hardware and adjustable feet for sloped shower floors. Rated well beyond everyday seated weight, they need no wall attachment — set, level, done in two minutes.
What care does the wood need in a wet room?
Rinse soap residue off weekly and let the stool dry between showers — any black spotting on bath wood is mildew eating soap film on the surface, not the wood itself, and rinsing prevents it. Re-oil every few months to hold the warm tone, or let it mellow; the wood stays sound either way.
How does it ship?
Each piece is made to order and shipped in a compact padded box with feet fitted and hardware installed. Tracking arrives the day of dispatch — and if the box takes a hit in transit, photograph it and we make it right.
