Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.
These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
Each shelf is a full-thickness teak board with its natural edge left as the tree grew it, dried twenty days in a controlled kiln so it hangs flat above a stove or a tub instead of cupping in the heat. The proportions are deliberately plain so the wood carries the design — no distressing, no barn-door signifiers. The top is flattened and the live edge hand-sanded until it invites a passing finger.
In a farmhouse kitchen the shelf everyone lands at is the one doing real work, and open storage only earns its place if it holds up to daily reaching. This one does: solid teak that shrugs off steam and grease, no hollow ledge to bow under a stack of plates. It is the shelf people brush a hand along on the way past, and the one they ask about when they finally stop.
Sunday, 9 a.m., batter on at least one cabinet knob. The flour jar, the syrup, and four mismatched mugs live on the kitchen shelf, reached for in the same order every week. By ten the counter is wiped back to calm like the chaos never happened.
Above the tub, rolled towels and a sprig of eucalyptus sit on the live edge. Steam rises past the teak every night and the wood only grows warmer for it — the same wood the gym steam room trusts, doing quiet work at home.
3 a.m., the only light from the streetlamp. The sound machine, the night-light, and one worn stuffed rabbit hold the shelf by the crib. Everything the middle-of-the-night shift needs sits one quiet, blind reach away.

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of every board — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name, deep enough that a finger finds it under a kitchen light.
Teak carries its own natural oils. Artisans hand-rub more into the top and live edge, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin — a surface that smells of wood on delivery day and holds up to grease and steam without a film to peel.
At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the shelf stays flat and level through daily bathroom steam and the humidity swings a working kitchen lives with.
Left outdoors, teak weathers to a refined silver-grey — a surface change only. Indoors it warms toward honey instead, and a light sanding and fresh oil bring the edge back to gold anytime you choose.
Boards are pulled one at a time by a thirty-year selector for a natural edge worth keeping. Stock with twist, hidden checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.
Each shelf is cut slightly proud of its final line, preserving the live edge for the handwork that gives it its profile.
The top and natural edge are sanded by hand through five successive grits until the contour feels right against an open palm — no splinter where a hand brushes past.
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks level, bracket seating, and finish before the shelf ships.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.
