Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Wall-mounted shelf

Shelving that moves like a drawn line

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

Storage that reads as a drawing on the wall.

One continuous, curving silhouette carries a run of layered shelves up the wall, each tier seeming to float from the next. Our designers refined the flow until the piece worked empty as well as full; each artisan selects the teak, cuts the curves, and hand-sands every face and edge. It is solid board front to back, not a printed skin over a hollow box.

The shelf that sags in the middle by year two is usually particleboard finding out what a row of hardcovers weighs. This one is solid teak dried twenty days before it was cut, so each tier holds a real load without a dip and without pulling at its anchors. Books, a small plant, one good object per tier — then the quiet satisfaction when a visitor steps closer to work out how the curves connect.

  • Layered tiers display books, plants, and framed photos together
  • Sculptural form works in an entry, hallway, or living room
  • Uses wall space and leaves the floor open
  • Solid teak tiers carry real weight, not just decor
  • Reads as art even when the tiers stand empty

It fits real homes.

One object per curve

One object per curve

Sunday afternoon, you rearrange again — the blue vase up a tier, the small framed photo down one. The shelf makes an editor out of you, and the wall that used to be blank paint now runs the room.

The trailing pothos

The trailing pothos

A plant on the top tier sends one vine down along the curve, following the wood's own line. Every few weeks you tuck it back into place like a hem, and the greenery and the grain end up telling the same story.

The step-closer moment

The step-closer moment

A guest clocks it from the sofa, then crosses the room to trace the silhouette with a finger and ask if it is really all wood. It is, front to back — and you get to say so.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain follows each shelf face along its curve — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. In raking afternoon light the tiers throw soft shadows down the wall.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into every visible face, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin. It arrives smelling faintly of wood, not of a finish off-gassing into a small room.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, each tier stays dead straight under a full load and does not bow when winter heat dries the room out.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left outdoors, teak weathers to a paper-thin silver-grey. Indoors it deepens toward honey instead; a light sanding and fresh oil bring the shelf's gold back whenever dust and sun dull the faces.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled by selectors with thirty years at the stacks, kiln-dried twenty days, and matched by tone so the tiers read as one family. Twisted or dull stock never qualifies.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The flowing silhouette is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the curves to be trued by hand.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Every face and inside curve is sanded through five grits, since a wall piece is seen — and touched — from all sides.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks each tier for level and finish before the shelf is signed out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What are the shelves and brackets made of?
Solid teak, with a bracket system chosen for the design — exposed steel on workshop styles, fully hidden on minimal ones. Never a veneer over a hollow box, so a tier can be sanded and re-oiled for years.
Can I order a full set for one wall?
Lengths, depths, and bracket finishes are all made to order. Outfitting a pantry, an office wall, or one long living-room run? We cut each shelf to your list.
How difficult is installation?
All mounting hardware ships in the box with a paper drilling template. Anchor into studs for book loads, use the supplied heavy-duty anchors elsewhere, and most installs take about fifteen minutes with a drill and a level.
What care keeps them looking new?
Dust regularly and oil the exposed faces once a year. If a shelf carries kitchen duty, wipe cooking film off monthly with a barely damp cloth and dry — the oil finish renews at home, no professional needed.
How do they arrive?
Each shelf is made to order and packed flat with corner guards, hardware bagged and taped to the back. Photograph the carton before the driver leaves; if anything arrives damaged we make it right, and tracking is emailed at dispatch.
What can each tier of this curved shelf hold?
Each tier is solid teak and carries real weight — a short row of books, a potted plant, or ceramics. Place the heaviest items on tiers anchored nearest a stud.
