Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.
These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
A tall back panel and a softly arched support, drawn as one continuous line and cut from solid teak — no veneer, no hollow torsion box, grain showing from below as well as above. The designer proportioned it for narrow walls: height where an entry needs presence, shallow depth where a hallway needs room. Every board spends twenty days in a temperature-controlled kiln before the first cut.
Renters know the math: the walls change every lease, and most shelving dies in the move. This one mounts on concealed brackets, comes down in minutes, and moves as easily as it hangs — and while it hangs, keys land on real wood at 7:40 every school morning, and the entry finally looks decided instead of furnished.
Six o'clock, door open, dog circling, mail wedged under one arm — the keys hit the teak with a small wooden knock and stay findable until morning. The clutter stops at the shelf instead of migrating to the kitchen counter.
Saturday, nine a.m., back from the farmers market: a tulip in April, a dahlia in September, eucalyptus after Thanksgiving. The arch makes a single stem read deliberate, and the oiled grain catches the low morning sun behind it.
Fourth apartment in six years, landlord-beige hallway. The shelf goes up within an hour of the truck leaving, and the entry belongs to them before the boxes do — the one square foot of wall they actually own.

Tight, straight teak grain runs the full height of the back panel — and when the box opens, the hallway briefly smells of a woodshop, the faint sweet, leathery scent genuine teak carries.
Teak makes its own oils and silica; we hand-rub more oil into the face and panel until the surface holds a low satin sheen under the entry light — warm to the fingertips, never the cold slick of a lacquered film.
At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, the shelf has real heft in the hands at install — and teak moves about half as much as oak, so it hangs flat through furnace-dry Januaries and humid Augusts alike.
Indoors, teak will not silver — it slowly deepens toward honey-amber where the daylight lands. Outdoors it grays; either way the change is paper-thin, and a light sanding with fresh oil resets the tone in minutes.
Boards come off stacks graded by selectors with thirty years at the lumber piles, matched by tone and grain across panel and shelf. Twisted or dull stock never makes the cut.
The arch is traced from a template, then bandsawn an eighth of an inch proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that finishes the curve.
The shelf edge and panel face move through five grits of sandpaper until the arch feels right against an open palm, not merely looks right.
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the bracket seats, the level, and the finish before the shelf leaves the workshop.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.
