Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.
These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
A vertical panel meets a sweeping lower support in one continuous line — a form our designers drew and redrew until the shelf read as sculpture across the room. The teak is solid through, not veneer over MDF, chosen for grain that follows the curve, then cut, shaped, and hand-sanded until the sweep runs unbroken and finished on every face.
Most shelves in this price range are a hollow box wrapped in printed grain that bows the first time you load real books. This one is full-thickness teak that holds a packed row without a sag, mounts on concealed steel into the studs, and comes off clean when the lease ends. The wall it hangs on starts to feel like yours.
Three books, spines out, swapped every few weeks for whatever the house is reading now. At eye level beside the reading chair, the current stack stays in sight instead of buried on a nightstand under phone chargers.
Sunday, four o'clock: fresh eucalyptus in the bud vase, last week's stems to the compost, a framed photo nudged an inch left. Two minutes on the curved surface and the whole living-room wall reads tended again.
Two minutes before the Tuesday standup, the laptop opens and the shelf sits over one shoulder — one focal point, no clutter — and a coworker asks about the grain before the call even starts.

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of the shelf face — the calm figure collectors ask for by name. Run a palm along it and the oiled grain is satin-smooth, never the slick of a lacquer film.
Teak carries its own natural oils, so a new shelf smells faintly of wood and nothing else — there is nothing to off-gas into the room. We hand-rub more oil into the panel and curve, deepening the gold to a warm satin.
At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, the shelf stays flat under a loaded row of books even when winter heat dries the room. Solid teak has no hollow core to bow.
Indoors the gold deepens with sunlight over the first months. In a hard afternoon sun line it lightens slowly and evenly — rotate the objects on top now and then, or a light sanding and fresh oil resets it.
Boards are pulled one at a time for grain that will follow the curve, after twenty days in a controlled kiln dries the moisture out. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.
The panel and sweeping support are traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the handwork.
The sweep is sanded through successive grits until the transition from panel to curve feels unbroken against an open palm.
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the mounting points, surfaces, and finish before it leaves the workshop.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.
