These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly
Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Shipping & returns
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
Carved from one block, flowing like water.
The bench begins as a single block of solid teak, kiln-dried through twenty slow days so a carving this deep stays sound for good. The carver reads the grain, then draws out one continuous flow of curve and hollow, sanding by hand until light moves across the seat the way water moves over stone.
Entryways usually get the leftovers — a flat-pack bench that wobbles by spring and heads to the curb by summer. This one does two jobs at once: a solid seat for the daily shoe fight, and the sculpture that tells visitors what kind of house they have walked into. Most of them run a hand along the curve before they say hello.

Grain that reads quiet
One figure runs unbroken through the seat and down into every hollow — a single block carries no seams — and in raking morning light the carving reads like topography.
The finish nature applied
The wood brings its own oils; we hand-rub more into the carved surface, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin — the seat reads warm under a hand even on a cold-hallway January morning.
Density you can feel
A block this size would tear itself apart in lesser wood. Teak moves about half as much as oak, so the sculpted form rides out furnace winters, humid Augusts, and the slammed front door between them.
Golden now, silver whenever
In an entry hall the gold only deepens — silvering takes outdoor sun and rain. If boot season ever dulls the seat, a light sanding and fresh oil bring the glow back in an afternoon.
From plank to piece.
The wood selection
A single block is chosen for size, soundness, and figure — the carver taps it, sights it, and rejects anything with a hidden check before a tool touches it.
The shaping process
The flowing form is roughed out slightly proud of the final line, leaving material for the carving that gives each hollow its depth.
The hand refinement
Every curve and hollow passes through five grits of sandpaper by hand until the seat feels right against a resting palm — and a sitting guest.
The final inspection
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker rocks the bench on a flat floor, checks stance and finish, and signs it out of the workshop.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.
Honest returns
30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.
Questions customers usually ask
How much weight can a bench hold?
This form is carved from one solid block, so there are no joints to rack loose — the usual failure point of entry benches. Like every bench we make, it is conservatively rated well past 500 pounds across the seat.
What wood and finish do you use?
Solid teak, hand-sanded and finished with penetrating oil rather than a plastic-feeling film. Oil means the seat stays warm to the touch — and a scuff from a boot buckle spot-sands and re-oils at home in ten minutes.
Do benches need assembly?
A single-block carving arrives exactly as it left the workshop — nothing to bolt, nothing to level. It is genuinely heavy, so plan a two-person carry to its spot; the weight is the same reason it never skids or wobbles.
How do I keep the seat looking good?
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry. Entryways see boots, salt, and bags, so refresh the oil once or twice a year — a small ritual, and the honest price of a finish you can renew yourself for decades.
How are benches packed for delivery?
Every bench is made to order, wrapped, corner-protected, and crated by weight. Tracking comes at dispatch; photograph the crate before the driver leaves and note any damage on the receipt, and anything wrong gets made right.
Is it seating or sculpture?
Both, honestly. The bench is shaped from a single solid block, so it carries adult weight like any bench we make — but many owners place it where it can be seen from the sofa, and sit on it anyway.
