Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Coat rack

Branches that earn their keep

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A rack of real branches, shaped for the daily grab-and-go.

The designers studied how a family loads a wall — where a coat swings, how high a child can reach — then let real driftwood branches supply the hooks. Each antler-like limb is chosen by hands with thirty years at the lumber stacks, dried twenty days in a controlled kiln that ends any insect in the wood, then sanded smooth and mounted so every point can carry a heavy coat.

The problem a coat rack solves is a pile — the drift of jackets over a chair back, the leash lost twice a week. This gathers it onto wood no factory could repeat, hooks angled so a wool coat hangs and stays. Fastened into two studs, the branches carry a loaded winter coat without flexing, and no two racks that leave the shop share the same spread.

  • Branch points hold coats, hats, scarves, and bags
  • Low limbs put kids' jackets within their own reach
  • Mounts on the wall or stands, by design
  • No two racks repeat — each branch is found, not molded
  • Reads as sculpture even on an empty wall

It fits real homes.

The school scramble

The school scramble

Backpacks, two jackets, one hat that was lost until now — grabbed off the branches in under a minute. The rack absorbs the seven-forty rush and stands there calm again by eight-fifteen.

Leash at the door

Leash at the door

The leash lives on the lowest point, and the dog knows it. One jingle of hardware against teak and there are paws at the door before your boots are even laced.

Coats for a crowd

Coats for a crowd

Game night in January, and the branches vanish under wool and down. Every guest reclaiming a coat at midnight runs a hand down the limb that held it and asks where it came from.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs down each branch and along the mounting board — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. The tone warms a beige builder-grade entry the moment it goes up.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into every limb and point, a warm satin that never feels like plastic, and smooth enough that a wool collar snags on nothing.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, each branch holds a loaded winter coat without flexing, damp March mornings included.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left alone, teak weathers toward a refined silver-grey — a surface change only, and one indoor air never starts. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the branches back to gold anytime.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Driftwood branches are chosen one at a time for their antler-like spread and dried twenty days in a controlled kiln. Cracked or brittle limbs never make a rack.

The shaping process

The shaping process

Each branch is trimmed slightly proud of its final form, hook points angled so a coat hangs and stays.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Every limb is sanded through successive grits until points and curves feel smooth against an open palm — and a wool collar.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker load-tests every branch before the rack is signed out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How are the coat rack shelves built?
Each coat rack shelf combines a solid-wood shelf with hardwood or metal hooks, built as one piece so the hooks anchor into real wood rather than a thin veneer panel.
Can I choose the width and number of hooks?
Yes — width and hook count are made to order. A 24-inch, three-hook rack suits a small entry; a 48-inch, six-hook run handles a family mudroom. Tell us your wall.
Will it hold heavy winter coats?
Mounting hardware is included and sized for the loaded weight of winter coats and bags. Fasten into two studs where you can; the included heavy-duty anchors carry the rest. Kiln-dried teak means the branches stay rigid rather than drying out and splitting at the hook.
How do I care for it?
Wipe the shelf and hooks with a dry cloth; damp jackets are fine, but let the wood breathe. Re-oil the branches once a year where hands and collars land daily — a ten-minute job, no specialist.
What does shipping look like?
Every rack ships made to order in a slim, padded carton with hardware bagged and taped inside. Tracking is provided from the workshop door to yours.
Will my rack look like the photos?
Close, never identical. Each rack is built from real driftwood branches, so the exact spread, curve, and number of hanging points varies piece to piece — that is what makes it a one-of-a-kind housewarming or wedding gift. Send us your wall size and we will match a branch to it.
