Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.
These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
The four-seat top measures 48 by 30 inches — proportions our designers drew for real dining rooms and breakfast nooks, not showrooms. Built from solid walnut, each top is solid through its full thickness — no veneer to chip and expose a particleboard core — matched for grain by an artisan, then curved, sanded, and finished by hand.
The math on the $400 flat-pack is quiet until you have bought it three times in a decade: wobbling within a month, tightened, replaced, and paid for twice over. This is the last table you buy — solid top on a joined base, no bolts to chase, a surface you sand and re-oil for decades. Press a forearm to the corner and nothing reports back; the kids will fight over it before it wears out.
Plates down, phones away, four chairs filled. The unremarkable weeknight dinner happens here a couple hundred times a year — which is exactly what the table was built for, the surface you touch every single day paying back its price one dinner at a time.
The table clears and refills within the hour: a third-grade spelling list, a laptop, the bills sorted into piles. The house's second shift runs on the same walnut top, and a dropped pencil or a spill wipes up without a flinch.
A birthday cake lands mid-table and the lights go out. Years of small ceremonies leave their glow on this surface — and where a Lego week left a gouge, ten minutes of fine paper and oil erased it. The wood only looks better for the mileage.

Across the 48-inch top, straight grain breaks into curls, waves, and darker mineral streaks — chocolate tones that come from the tree itself, never from a stain. Your top exists nowhere else, which is the proof it is solid wood, not print.
A simple oil finish is all walnut asks. The tabletop polishes to a smooth, lustrous depth that pulls a hand across the surface between courses, almost involuntarily — and opens smelling of wood, not the chemical haze of a new lacquered table.
At about 1,010 on the Janka scale, the top absorbs dropped forks, board games, and homework pressure without turning brittle — the resilience that kept walnut in gunstocks for a century. Everyday marks blend into patina rather than reading as damage.
The tabletop settles into a warmer patina with each year of dinners and daylight. Kiln-dried twenty days before the first cut, the wood finished its moving in the kiln, so the top holds flat when a forced-air winter drops the room to 20 percent humidity.
Boards are pulled one at a time and matched by tone and grain across the top, then kiln-dried twenty days until the moisture meter says done. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.
The top's soft curves are traced from templates, then cut slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the handwork on every edge.
The top and its curved edges are sanded by hand through successive grits until the rim feels right under a resting forearm.
The finish goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks base fit, level, and surface before the table ships.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.
