Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Handcrafted solid wood · Tree bookshelf

The tree bookshelf that grows on the wall

The piece

A library that branches.

A tree bookshelf is drawn before it is built — trunk and limbs sketched until the silhouette balances — then each branch is cut from solid teak boards, faired by hand, and sanded through five grits so every shelf edge lands smooth under a small reaching hand.

It is shaped for how a child's library actually grows. Picture books crowd the low limbs first; the good stuff migrates upward year by year as the reader does. By middle school the tree bookshelf in the living room holds the whole history of learning to read, in order, at a glance.

  • Holds a family library on solid, level branches
  • Doubles as the largest artwork in the room
  • Low limbs put picture books at kid height
  • Level perches for plants, frames, and small finds
  • Anchored into studs, it carries hardcovers without sagging

It fits real homes.

Seven-Fifty, One Book

Seven-fifty, pajamas on, one book allowed. Three come off the lowest branch anyway, and the negotiation happens at the foot of the tree. Two get read. The third waits on its limb as tomorrow's opening argument.

The Step-Stool Retirement

The good books migrate upward as she grows. This fall she reached the third branch flat-footed for the first time — a milestone nobody wrote down and everybody noticed. The step stool moved to the closet that same week.

Sunday, Choosing Slowly

Sunday, 4 p.m., coffee in hand, ten unhurried minutes in front of the tree. Half the pleasure of rereading is the browsing that comes before it — a fingertip along the limb, two spines pulled, one returned.

Teak, up close.

The grain

Honey and amber bands run the length of each plank. No two boards repeat, so your piece is the only one with this pattern.

The oils

Teak grows its own protective oils, and they carry the wood through dry winters and humid summers that crack lesser boards. Spills just need wiping up promptly.

The weight

Lift a corner and you feel dense, solid stock with no hollow frames or fillers. Kiln-dried before the build, it sits flat and stays put, even when the heat comes on.

The years ahead

Teak deepens toward a richer brown as it lives with you. A wipe of teak oil twice a year holds the tone you chose.

From plank to piece.

Select

Planks graded by practiced eyes, then kiln-dried slowly until they settle.

Mill

Each board cut, squared, and matched to the pattern.

Shape

Joined and eased with hand tools after the machines have done the rough work.

Finish

Sanded fine, then oiled until the grain reads deep.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What exactly is a wall tree bookshelf?
Each wall tree is cut from solid wood into a branching form whose limbs are the shelves — a piece that reads as sculpture from the sofa and works as storage up close.
Can I choose the height and spread?
Yes. Height, spread, and branch count are made to order — a six-foot tree for a child's reading corner, or a nine-foot spread across a living-room wall.
How does it mount to the wall?
The tree mounts in sections on included hardware, anchored into studs at marked points. A paper template locates every screw; two people make quick work of the larger spreads.
How do I care for it once loaded?
Dust the limbs when you dust the books and re-oil exposed edges yearly. Rearranging the books now and then lets sunlight tone the wood evenly.
How does it ship?
Wall trees ship made to order in flat, sectioned cartons with templates and hardware packed first on top. Tracking follows the shipment from the workshop to your door.
How does the tree mount, and will it really hold books?
It anchors through the trunk and several branches into wall studs, using mounting points built into the piece — the same physics as hanging a very heavy mirror, spread across more fasteners. Secured that way, the wood is never the weak point. And unlike a freestanding case, there is nothing for a climbing toddler to pull over — the anti-tip question answers itself.
How many books will it actually hold?
Most designs carry several dozen volumes in upright rows and flat stacks, with the heaviest hardcovers best kept near the trunk. Honest sizing: this is the display library — the titles in current rotation, the covers worth facing out — not deep storage for every paperback you own. The overflow archive can live in a closed cabinet; the tree holds the books your hands actually reach for.
