These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly
Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Shipping & returns
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
The one wood that was built for a wet room.
The seat is cut from solid teak, the tropical hardwood whose own oils and silica shrug off water the way a yacht deck does, shaped along quiet mid-century lines. The boards spend twenty days in a temperature-controlled kiln, then get hand-sanded until the seat feels smooth wet or dry — an oiled surface that spot-repairs forever, not a film finish that peels in a wet room.
A bathroom is mostly cold, hard surfaces, and a tiled ledge holds exactly nothing steady. This bench is the same idea as the wood in the steam room at the gym — warm under skin where tile bites, grippy when wet where stone is treacherous. Outside the shower it holds towels and a bath tray just as well, and it is the one bathroom object owners point out on the house tour.

Grain from the tree
No two seats match — each teak board carries its own rings, figure, and honey-to-amber color, drawn from the tree, not printed on a film. In steam the grain darkens a shade, then settles back as it dries.
Finished by hand
The seat and legs are hand-sanded and oiled rather than wrapped in plastic film — real wood that stays faintly warm and grippy under wet skin, and can be refreshed at home for decades.
Kiln-dried and joined
Stock spends its full cycle in the kiln before joinery, and the joints are wood to wood — so the seat stays tight through years of daily steam followed by bone-dry furnace air.
Built to be inherited
Dense teak develops a genuine patina where wet feet and towels land, and sands back fresh whenever you choose — a bench built to outlast the bathroom around it.
From plank to piece.
The wood selection
Teak boards are pulled one at a time and matched by tone and grain across the seat. Checked or twisted stock never makes it past the first look.
The shaping process
The mid-century profile is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that softens every edge.
The hand refinement
Seat and legs move through five grits of sandpaper until every edge feels right against bare skin, not merely looks right from a step away.
The final inspection
Finish goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks stance, level, and the adjustable feet before the bench leaves the workshop.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

Is this bench really safe inside a running shower?
Yes. Teak is the tropical hardwood whose natural oils and silica shrug off water — the same wood spa and locker-room benches are built from, wetter duty than any home shower. The boards are chosen by selectors with thirty years at the lumber stacks, then kiln-dried twenty days at controlled heat, so the wood has finished moving and will not swell, warp, or crack between steamy showers and dry furnace air. It will not splinter when wet the way cedar can; let it dry between showers and it serves for years.
Can the bench be sized to my shower stall?
Yes. Benches are built to order, so width and height match your stall or wet room. Send the alcove measurements — including the glass-door swing — and we size the bench with proper clearance before the first cut.
Does it need installation?
Shower benches arrive assembled with stainless, rust-proof hardware and adjustable feet for sloped shower floors. Rated well beyond everyday seated weight, they need no wall attachment — set it down, level the feet, done.
What care does the wood need in a wet room?
The honest note: black spots on bath wood are mildew feeding on soap residue sitting on the surface, not the wood failing. So rinse soap off weekly, run the fan, and let the bench dry between showers. Re-oil every few months to hold the warm tone, or let it mellow — sound either way.
How does it ship?
Each bench is made to order and shipped in a compact padded box with feet fitted and hardware installed. Tracking is provided on the day of dispatch, and anything transit does to the box gets made right — photograph it on arrival and write us.
