Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Handcrafted solid wood · Sculpture

Carved once, never repeated

The piece

No mold, no cast, no copy.

Every sculpture here is cut from a single teak block, so the figure in the grain decides half the design. The carver reads the board before the first gouge, follows the cathedrals where they run, and sands through five grits until the surface asks for a hand. The form repeats; the wood never does.

So the piece in the living room will not match our photos exactly — it will out-do them. Teak runs honey to deep caramel and darkens a shade in its first months of light. The grain you receive is the provenance of your sculpture, the proof no one else owns this one.

  • Anchors a console, mantel, or entry table without brackets or mounting
  • Cut from one block — no joints to loosen, nothing to wobble
  • Gives a bookshelf one focal point between rows of spines
  • Reads from every angle, so open floor plans get no bad side
  • Dusts with a dry cloth; a yearly wipe of oil restores the glow

It fits real homes.

Heavier than it looks

The box is heavier than its size suggests, and the packing paper smells faintly of a woodshop. You set it down, step back, and spend the first ten minutes just turning it a few degrees at a time.

The 8:58 backdrop

8:58 on a Tuesday, camera on. Behind your shoulder the shelf reads calm — spines, one carved form, bare wall. On a grid of bookcase backgrounds, yours is the frame that looks composed on purpose.

Raking light

For twenty minutes after the sun clears the neighbor's roofline, light rakes across the carved planes and the piece throws a shadow twice its size. Some mornings you stop and photograph it; most mornings you just stop.

Teak, up close.

The grain

Honey and amber bands run the length of each plank. No two boards repeat, so your piece is the only one with this pattern.

The oils

Teak grows its own protective oils, and they carry the wood through dry winters and humid summers that crack lesser boards. Spills just need wiping up promptly.

The weight

Lift a corner and you feel dense, solid stock with no hollow frames or fillers. Kiln-dried before the build, it sits flat and stays put, even when the heat comes on.

The years ahead

Teak deepens toward a richer brown as it lives with you. A wipe of teak oil twice a year holds the tone you chose.

From plank to piece.

Select

Planks graded by practiced eyes, then kiln-dried slowly until they settle.

Mill

Each board cut, squared, and matched to the pattern.

Shape

Joined and eased with hand tools after the machines have done the rough work.

Finish

Sanded fine, then oiled until the grain reads deep.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What are the sculptures carved from?
Each sculpture in this collection is carved from a single block of solid wood — most often plantation-grown teak — then hand-sanded and oiled so the grain reads clearly from every angle. Color and figure vary piece to piece.
Can I request a specific size or form?
Yes. Because every sculpture is made to order, we can scale a form up or down to suit a mantel, console, or floor placement. Send us the spot you have in mind and we will advise.
Does it need mounting or a base?
No mounting required. Each piece is shaped and weighted to stand on its own, with a flattened, felt-padded base that protects shelves and tabletops. Choose a spot away from busy walkways for taller forms.
How do I keep the finish looking right?
Dust with a soft dry cloth and keep the piece out of prolonged direct sun. Once or twice a year, a thin coat of teak or furniture oil restores the depth of the grain.
How is a sculpture packed for shipping?
Every sculpture is made to order, wrapped, and packed in a fitted, padded carton — larger forms are crated. You receive tracking as soon as it leaves the workshop.
Is it safe around kids and a big dog's tail?
It is a solid block, so a knock hurts the floor before it hurts the sculpture. Teak is dense, and the oil finish has no brittle coating to chip — a scar from a hard hit sands out with fine paper and a wipe of oil in about ten minutes. In a house with climbers, stand taller pieces against a wall or in a corner, and it will outlast the climbing years.
Can it live on a covered porch?
Covered and dry, yes — teak's own oils and silica are the reason ship decks use it. Full sun and rain will silver the surface in six to twelve months; that gray is paper-thin, and a light sanding brings the gold back, so even weathering is a choice, not damage. Indoors it simply deepens a shade over the years. Skip the in-between spot that catches occasional rain — partial exposure grays unevenly.
