These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly
Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Shipping & returns
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
A slim console that turns a hallway into an arrival.
The designers held this console to a twelve-inch depth so it serves halls where furniture usually cannot. Each teak board is chosen for grain and edge character, dried twenty days in the kiln so it will not move against a plaster wall, then shaped, sanded through the grits, and oiled by hand with the knots and figure left in view.
A hallway is measured in inches you do not have to spare, which is why most consoles either block the walk or float too shallow to hold anything. This one is cut to your wall — thirty inches of working surface at twelve deep, a slab you can re-oil for decades. It gives the entry a face, the first thing that says someone chose this house on purpose.

October on a table
The lamp gets swapped for a squat vase of branches, then candles in December, tulips by March. The console keeps the seasons for the whole house, one small arrangement at a time, water rings from the vase wiping clean off the oiled top.

Guests linger at the door the way guests do. Someone leans an elbow on the console, traces a knot in the teak, and asks who made it — and the goodbye stretches another comfortable ten minutes.

Grain that reads quiet
Tight, straight, even grain runs the full width of the console top — the calm, consistent figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name, warm under a hallway lamp.
The finish nature applied
Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and legs, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin that never feels like plastic under a set-down key ring.
Density you can feel
At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the top stays flat under lamps, bowls, and leaning elbows through every heating season.
Golden now, silver whenever
By a bright entry window, teak drifts toward silver-grey over years — a surface change only, never a crack. A light sanding and fresh oil restore the gold anytime.
From plank to piece.
The wood selection
Teak boards are pulled one at a time and matched by tone across top and base, each already through its twenty-day kiln cycle. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.
The shaping process
Top and legs are traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that gives each edge its profile.
The hand refinement
Surfaces are sanded by hand through successive grits until the front edge feels right against an open palm, not merely looks right.
The final inspection
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks joints, level, and finish before the console leaves the workshop.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

What are the console tables made from?
Each console in this collection is cut from solid wood — often a single continuous slab for the top — then hand-finished so the grain, knots, and natural edges remain part of the piece. No veneer over particleboard, so the top sands and re-oils for generations instead of chipping at a corner.
Do you build to fit narrow hallways?
Consoles are made to order, so length and depth adjust to your hallway or entry. A narrow ten-inch depth for tight halls is one of our most common builds — measure your narrowest doorway too, so the slab makes the turn on delivery day.
Will I need to assemble it?
Most consoles arrive assembled. Designs with sculptural bases ship in two parts that join with pre-fitted bolts — a ten-minute job for one person with the included key, no wordless diagrams.
What care does a console need?
Dust with a soft cloth and wipe up water from vases and umbrellas promptly. An annual oiling keeps the top ready for the keys, mail, and hands it greets daily, and a light scuff spot-sands out at home rather than needing a refinisher.
How is a console packed?
Every console is made to order and packed in a fitted crate or double-walled carton with rigid corner guards. Tracking is emailed the day it ships; photograph the crate before unpacking if it looks crushed and write support@timbervintique.com.
