Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Dining table

No corner legs. No worst seat.

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A round table where every chair faces everyone.

The pedestal stands where four legs would crowd knees, so chairs pull in anywhere along the circle. Our designers sized the column to steady a full-thickness solid teak top — no veneer, no particleboard core — and the finish is hand-rubbed oil, which asks for a fresh coat once a year and repays it with a surface you can repair at home.

You know the test — a forearm pressed to the edge, waiting for the flex. There is none to find: the boards spend twenty days in a temperature-controlled kiln, so the wood finished its moving before the first cut, and the joints stay quiet through furnace season. Years in, the pattern holds — everyone still chooses the round table over the sofa.

  • Chairs pull in anywhere — no corner legs to straddle
  • Round top keeps six people in one conversation
  • Spills and sweating glasses wipe off the oiled teak
  • Pedestal clears knees for boosters, wheelchairs, and sideways sitters
  • Fits open kitchens where a rectangle blocks the walkway

It fits real homes.

Pancake Sundays

Pancake Sundays

Sunday, 9 a.m., flour drifting and syrup threatening. Four plates fit the circle without a corner fight, and by ten the oiled top wipes back to calm like the batter never happened.

Homework headquarters

Homework headquarters

Four p.m. on a school day: long division in pencil, a glitter-glue incident, a parent within reach of every worksheet. At six it clears, and dinner lands on the same wood.

Friendsgiving squeeze

Friendsgiving squeeze

Mid-November potluck in an 800-square-foot apartment — seven friends around a table sized for six. With no corner legs, the extra chair simply slides in, and the wishbone gets pulled anyway.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Matched boards carry the grain in one calm sweep across the circle, and under a raking breakfast sun the seams read flush to a passing palm — the quiet consistency collectors ask for by name.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more in until the top holds a low satin under the dinner lamp — warm against a bare forearm where lacquer reads like plastic.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

The top arrives at honest two-person weight — the spec reviewers brag about, never complain about — and teak moves roughly half as much as oak when February furnace air drops the dining room to desert dryness.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the gold slowly deepens; teak will not silver without outdoor sun and rain. If a decade dulls it, a light sanding and fresh oil bring it back over a weekend.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards for the top are pulled one at a time by selectors with thirty years at the lumber stacks, matched by tone and grain across the circle. Twisted or dull stock never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The circle and pedestal are traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the pencil line, leaving material for the handwork that trues the curve.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

The rim and pedestal are sanded by hand through five grits until the edge feels right against an open palm at dinner.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker stands the table on a flat bench and checks the base for level and rock before it leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Is the tabletop solid wood all the way through?
Solid teak through the entire top — no veneer, no MDF, no particleboard anywhere in the piece. That is why it can be sanded and refinished for decades, a test a veneer top cannot survive.
How do I choose the right size?
Tables are made to order, so we build to your seat count and room. Tape the diameter on the floor before you decide — it beats guessing from photos — then tell us the space and how many you host, and we will recommend a size and overhang.
What does setup involve?
The base attaches to the top with pre-fitted bolts and figure-eight fasteners that let the wood move with the seasons. Two people, twenty minutes, all hardware included — no wordless diagrams, no leftover screw.
How do I care for a daily-use table?
Wipe after meals with a damp cloth and dry. Use trivets under hot dishes, and re-oil once or twice a year when the surface looks thirsty. A white ring from a forgotten glass lifts with a cloth and a warm dry iron.
How is a dining table shipped?
Freight, in a custom crate with the top and base cradled separately behind corner protection. Photograph the crate before the driver leaves and note anything on the receipt — if damage got through, we make it right, step by step.
Does a pedestal seat more people than four legs?
Usually one or two more. With no corner legs, chairs slide anywhere along the circle, so an extra guest means sliding closer rather than straddling a table leg. Tell us your usual headcount and we will size the diameter to it.
