Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Carved wall art

The first thing the house says

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

Carved teak waves that give the entry its welcome.

Sweeping carved waves roll across the panel in a rhythm our designers tuned pass after pass — enough movement to catch the eye from the door, enough restraint to live with daily. An artisan selects teak with flowing grain, kiln-dried so it hangs true, carves each crest by hand, and oils the surface until the figure glows. Solid wood, carved, not printed.

Most entries settle for a mass-made mirror and a strip of hooks that look tired inside a year. This is carved teak that reads from the far end of the hall and deepens with age instead of dating. Coats and bags brush past it every day and it shrugs them off — the first thing the house says, and the piece that keeps on saying it well for decades.

  • Bare entry wall? Gives it a focal point beyond hooks and mirrors.
  • Reads from a distance? Carved depth shows from down the hallway.
  • Where does it go? Pairs naturally above a console or bench.
  • Only in daylight? Casts shifting shadows under lamp and sun.
  • Upkeep? Needs only a soft brush of dusting.

It fits real homes.

Keys down, shoulders down

Keys down, shoulders down

The last thing you see leaving at 7:40 and the first coming home at six — a beat of carved calm between the front door and the whole pile of the day waiting inside it.

The two-finger trace

The two-finger trace

New guests do it every time — coats half off, mid-sentence, a hand drifts up to follow one carved crest across the panel. The questions about who made it come right after.

Lamplight at dusk

Lamplight at dusk

When the console lamp comes on, the carved waves throw long soft shadows down the hallway wall — the entry's own evening mode, no dimmer switch required.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs beneath the carved crests — the calm figure collectors ask for by name. Under a passing hand the oiled crests are satin-smooth, never a flat printed relief.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils, so the panel arrives smelling faintly of wood, with nothing to off-gas into a small entry. We hand-rub more into every crest and trough, deepening the gold to a warm satin.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, the carved panel hangs flat and true even as winter forced-air heat dries the entry — solid teak does not cup on the wall.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the golden tone holds for years; if a sunny entry ever mutes it, a light sanding and fresh oil bring the waves' warmth back anytime. Keep it off a hard afternoon sun line and it shifts evenly.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Panels are chosen for flowing grain that will run with the waves, then kiln-dried twenty days so the wood hangs true for life. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The wave pattern is traced from the master drawing, then cut slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the carving work.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Each crest and trough is carved and sanded through successive grits until the rhythm reads cleanly in raking light.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks hanging hardware, surfaces, and finish before it ships.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What is the wall art made from?
Worked from solid teak panels — carved and hand-finished — so the piece has real depth and shadow, not a printed pattern on board. Under a passing hand you feel the carved crests, not a flat laminate.
Can a piece be scaled to my wall?
Yes — dimensions scale to your wall since each piece is made to order. Send a photo of the space with rough measurements and we will suggest proportions.
How does it hang?
Hanging hardware is fitted at the workshop — keyhole slots or French cleats by weight — with matching anchors in the box. Most pieces hang on two screws.
Does wooden wall art need maintenance?
Dust with a soft dry brush or cloth, and keep it off a wall that takes hard afternoon sun so the tone shifts evenly over years. Nothing else is required year to year.
How does wall art ship?
Each piece is made to order and ships flat in a rigid, foam-lined carton with the hardware taped inside. Tracking is emailed to you once the carton ships.
Can it hang above an entry bench or console?
That is its natural home. Center the piece over the bench or console with a hand's width of clearance above the surface; the workshop-fitted cleat holds it flush and secure where coats and bags brush past daily.
