These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly
Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Shipping & returns
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Instead of right angles, this bookshelf is built from interlocking ovals — open compartments flowing into one another in a deliberately asymmetrical rhythm. Every curve is solid teak, bandsawn and faired by hand; there is no bent plywood or veneer edge here to lift, which is why these curves can be sanded and re-oiled for decades.
Bookcases are usually the room's first compromise — the flat-pack unit that sags within a year and stays only because moving it means emptying it. This one is the correction: rigid oval frames that carry a full load without complaint, teak dried twenty days in the kiln so nothing racks when the seasons swing, and a shape the room organizes itself around.

Grain that reads quiet
Tight, straight grain follows each oval's face around its curve without breaking — the giveaway that these are worked boards, not bent veneer. Run a thumb along an edge and the figure stays continuous.
The finish nature applied
Teak's own oils meet hand-rubbed coats on every face and inner curve. Under a picture light the ovals show a low satin sheen, and new owners mention the faint woodshop smell for the first week.
Density you can feel
At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, the oval frames stay rigid under a full load of art books — and teak moves about half as much as oak when winter heat dries the room to desert numbers.
Golden now, silver whenever
Indoors the ovals deepen toward honey over the years; silvering needs outdoor sun and rain. If one side faces a bright window, rotate a few objects now and then so the tone stays even.
From plank to piece.
The wood selection
Boards are pulled one at a time by selectors with thirty years at the stacks, matched so the grain reads as one family across the connected ovals. Dull stock never makes it.
The shaping process
Each oval is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the fairing that trues every curve by eye and hand.
The hand refinement
Inner and outer curves are sanded through five grits until a hand can ride any oval end to end without a catch.
The final inspection
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker loads test weight, checks stance and joints, and rakes a lamp across the faces before sign-off.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

How are the bookshelves constructed?
Solid teak from shelf to frame — the ovals are worked boards, not bent plywood under a veneer skin. Fixed joints carry the load into the frame, which is why long curved spans hold a full row of hardcovers without sagging, year after year.
Can dimensions be adjusted to my wall?
Yes — height, width, and shelf spacing can be adjusted when you order. Measure your wall and ceiling first; we regularly build around baseboards, sloped ceilings, and awkward alcoves.
Should a bookshelf be anchored to the wall?
Taller bookshelves include an anti-tip strap and wall anchor, and we recommend using it, especially with children in the house. The strap installs into one stud in a few minutes and disappears behind the frame.
What care do loaded shelves need?
Dust with a dry cloth and rotate sun-facing decor occasionally so the wood tones evenly. One thin coat of oil a year keeps edges and faces rich — about twenty minutes, and the only maintenance the piece asks for. A scuff on an edge spot-sands and re-oils by hand, where a film finish would peel.
How does a bookshelf arrive?
Bookshelves are made to order and ship crated, standing on a padded base with the back protected. Large pieces deliver by appointment — photograph the crate before the driver leaves and note anything on the receipt; if damage got through, we make it right.
What fits inside the oval compartments?
The ovals vary in size by design: the larger openings take standard hardcovers and art books upright, the mid-sized ones suit paperbacks and ceramics, and the smallest are meant for a plant or a single object. Curved interiors work best with a mix of upright rows and flat stacks.
