Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Console with tree shelf

A table that grew its own bookshelf

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

Two pieces of furniture sharing one footprint.

The designers solved a narrow-wall problem twice in one silhouette: a 30-inch live-edge console below, a branching tree bookshelf rising above it. A selector with thirty years at the lumber stacks chooses the teak, a twenty-day kiln dries it until the moisture is gone, and the maker follows the natural edge by hand and fits each branch so a row of spines sits secure on real wood.

The renter's math is cruel: no room for a bookcase, no wall to give up, a landlord counting nail holes at move-out. This earns its 12 inches completely — keys and lamp on the table, the current reading stacked on the branches overhead. Because each tree is cut on its own, your branch layout will differ from the photo — the small proof it was built for your wall, not stamped by the thousand.

  • Console surface and bookshelf share one 12-inch depth
  • Branches hold books, plants, and framed photos upright
  • Live-edge top takes keys, mail, and a small lamp
  • Fits hallways, entries, and apartment walls at 30 inches
  • One piece to place instead of two to squeeze in

It fits real homes.

The hallway library

The hallway library

No room for a bookcase in the fourth rental in six years, but the branches hold this month's reading and the table holds everything else. One narrow wall, finally fully employed.

Book down, keys up

Book down, keys up

Home at six: keys land on the live edge, the paperback from the train slides onto its branch. The whole arrival takes four seconds and nothing is missing at eight the next morning.

The lender's shelf

The lender's shelf

Friends leave with a book more often than they arrive with one. The branch by the door is the house's informal lending desk, and the gaps in the row tell you exactly who owes what.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs across the tabletop and up each branch — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. In a dim hallway the oiled grain still throws a low sheen.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and every limb, a warm satin that never feels like plastic, and no chemical smell to sit in a closed apartment entry.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the branches hold a leaning row of books without drifting, dry winters and all.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left alone, teak weathers toward a refined silver-grey — a surface change only, and one indoor air never starts. A light sanding and fresh oil bring table and tree back to gold anytime.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Teak for the top and branches is pulled from the same tonal family and dried twenty days in a controlled kiln, so table and tree read as one piece.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The branching shelf is traced full size above the tabletop line, then cut slightly proud for the handwork ahead.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

The live edge and every branch are sanded through successive grits until each feels right against an open palm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker levels the top and seats a test row of books before sign-out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What are the console tables made from?
Each console in this collection is cut from solid wood — often a single continuous slab for the top — then hand-finished so the grain, knots, and natural edges remain part of the piece.
Do you build to fit narrow hallways?
Consoles are made to order, so length and depth adjust to your hallway or entry. A narrow ten-inch depth for tight halls is one of our most common builds.
Will I need to assemble it?
Most consoles arrive assembled. Designs with sculptural bases ship in two parts that join with pre-fitted bolts — a ten-minute job for one person with the included key.
What care does a console need?
Dust with a soft cloth and wipe up water from vases and umbrellas promptly. An annual oiling keeps the top ready for the keys, mail, and hands it greets daily; kept a couple of feet from a heat vent, kiln-dried teak holds its shape through winter.
How is a console packed?
Every console is made to order and packed in a fitted crate or double-walled carton with rigid corner guards. Tracking is emailed to you the day it ships.
How many books does the tree shelf hold?
At 30 inches long and tall with a 12-inch depth, the branch shelf typically carries fifteen to twenty-five standard paperbacks and hardcovers across its limbs, with the tabletop below left free for a lamp and daily essentials. Branch layout varies slightly piece to piece — each tree is cut individually.
