Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Wall tree bookshelf

A storybook tree, growing on your wall

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

The bookshelf that reads as sculpture from across the room.

Real teak branches, each one selected, shaped, and smoothed by hand, spread across the wall with mushroom-capped shelves riding the limbs — solid wood, not a molded resin prop. The designer balanced the spread so books sit level on a form that grew crooked; the artisan keeps every natural bend the tree offered.

Most gifts for a child's room are outgrown or landfilled within a couple of years. This one gets handed down: solid teak sanded smooth enough for small hands, a reading tree at five that becomes a display wall at fifteen. Visitors count the mushroom caps, pull a book from a branch, and ask if it was built for this wall. Since every tree differs, the honest answer is yes.

  • Branch shelves hold picture books at a child's reach
  • Mushroom caps display small treasures and figures
  • Shelf count and placement customize to your wall
  • Reads as wall art even standing empty
  • Solid teak outlasts every toy given alongside it

It fits real homes.

Picking tonight's story

Picking tonight's story

Bedtime negotiation happens at the tree: one book from the low branch, one from the mushroom cap. Small fingers trace the sanded grain while the stalling runs its course. The picking is half the ritual, and the tree keeps every option in reach.

Shadows after lights-out

Shadows after lights-out

The nightlight throws branch shadows up the wall and the room turns into a quiet forest. Ten years from now, that silhouette — not the paint color, not the rug — is what they will remember about this bedroom.

The show-and-tell wall

The show-and-tell wall

Playdates start with a tour. A small guide points out each mushroom cap, which dinosaur lives on which limb, and which branch holds the library books due back Friday. The tree is the first thing every new friend wants explained.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs along every shaped branch — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name, sanded until a child's palm meets no splinter or ridge.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the limbs and shelf caps, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin — no lacquer film to chip off into a toddler's room.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, each branch holds its row of books without sag — and twenty days in a controlled kiln means the wood will not check when winter heat dries the room's air.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left alone by a sunny window, teak drifts toward a refined silver-grey over years — a surface change only. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the branches back to gold whenever you like.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Branches are chosen one at a time for shape and sound structure. Limbs with weak forks or dull figure never make the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

Each branch is trimmed slightly proud of its final form, mushroom caps rough-cut, leaving material for the handwork that follows.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Limbs and shelf faces are sanded through successive grits until a child's hand can run the whole branch without a catch.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker levels every shelf and checks each mount before the tree ships.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What exactly is a wall tree bookshelf?
Each wall tree is cut from solid wood into a branching form whose limbs are the shelves — a piece that reads as sculpture from the sofa and works as storage up close.
Can I choose the height and spread?
Yes. Height, spread, and branch count are made to order — a six-foot tree for a child's reading corner, or a nine-foot spread across a living-room wall.
How does it mount to the wall?
The tree mounts in sections on included hardware, anchored into studs at marked points. A paper template locates every screw; two people make quick work of the larger spreads.
How do I care for it once loaded?
Dust the limbs when you dust the books, and re-oil the exposed edges once a year when they look dry. Rearranging the books now and then lets sunlight tone the wood evenly, so no branch fades ahead of the rest. No sealant, no film — the teak's own oils carry it.
Will my tree match the photos exactly?
No — and that is the appeal. The branches are natural, so each tree bends and forks its own way. Yours will share the design and the mushroom caps, but its shape belongs to it alone.
