Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Handcrafted solid wood · Headboard

The wall behind your best hours

The piece

The surface you sleep beside.

You spend eight hours a night a foot from this piece, so what it is made of matters more here than anywhere else in the house. This is solid teak under a natural oil finish — no particleboard core, no formaldehyde adhesives, no lacquer film. It arrives smelling faintly of wood, not of chemicals, because there is nothing to off-gas.

The rest is patience: boards matched so the grain flows across the full width, edges eased by hand where a shoulder leans, oil rubbed in thin coats and buffed. In the bedroom the effect is quiet — a wall that finally looks finished, and air that smells like nothing at all.

  • Turns sitting up in bed into an actual backrest
  • No hollow frame to knock or creak against the wall
  • Solid wood stops pillows sliding behind the mattress
  • Concealed cleat mount keeps the face flush and level
  • Natural oil finish — nothing to off-gas beside your pillow

It fits real homes.

The last chapter

Eleven p.m., pillows stacked against the headboard, one lamp on. The wood takes the lean of two shoulders without a sound while the book decides whether tonight runs one chapter or three.

Saturday, 8 a.m.

Low autumn sun crosses the bed and rakes the grain sideways, and for ten minutes the headboard shows ridges and figure that noon never finds. Coffee on the nightstand. Nobody is going anywhere.

Sunday pile-on

Seven-thirty, two kids, one dog, zero mercy. Four bodies end up shoulder to shoulder against the headboard for the read-aloud, and it holds the whole squirming congregation without one creak.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

The grain

Honey and amber bands run the length of each plank. No two boards repeat, so your piece is the only one with this pattern.

The oils

Teak grows its own protective oils, and they carry the wood through dry winters and humid summers that crack lesser boards. Spills just need wiping up promptly.

The weight

Lift a corner and you feel dense, solid stock with no hollow frames or fillers. Kiln-dried before the build, it sits flat and stays put, even when the heat comes on.

The years ahead

Teak deepens toward a richer brown as it lives with you. A wipe of teak oil twice a year holds the tone you chose.

From plank to piece.

Select

Planks graded by practiced eyes, then kiln-dried slowly until they settle.

Mill

Each board cut, squared, and matched to the pattern.

Shape

Joined and eased with hand tools after the machines have done the rough work.

Finish

Sanded fine, then oiled until the grain reads deep.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How does it mount, and will it knock against the wall?
Most pieces hang on a concealed wall cleat — the same interlocking principle cabinetmakers use — which pulls the wood flat and snug so there is no gap left to knock across. Some models bolt to a standard bed frame instead. Anchor into studs, use two people for the lift, and expect real weight: solid teak is heavy, and that heft is exactly why it stays silent.
What width should I order for my bed?
Match or slightly exceed the mattress: about 60 inches for a queen, 76 for a king. A few extra inches per side frames the bed and both nightstands as one composition. And because each piece is made to order, a wide wall or an oversize frame is a note on the order, not a problem — just check the listed width against your frame before you buy.
