Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Nightstand

The last thing you touch each night

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A nightstand carved in waves, built for the smallest hours.

The designers softened every line: two wave-carved drawers flowing into the body, corners rounded past sharpness, tapered legs lifting the case into the light. An artisan selects the teak, carves the drawer fronts by hand, and fits each drawer to solid dovetailed boxes dried twenty days in the kiln, so it still slides shut with a fingertip when the furnace runs.

Beside the bed it holds the nightly handover — book, glasses, water, phone — on warm wood instead of cold laminate that a wet glass rings forever. Reach for the alarm at six half-asleep and nothing rattles or tips; the case sits square and dead solid. The lower drawer becomes the small private archive, and years on it is still the piece nobody else opens.

  • Top holds lamp, book, glass, and phone without crowding
  • Two carved drawers separate daily items from private ones
  • Tapered legs lift it clear for easy floor cleaning
  • Rounded corners spare shins on the midnight route
  • Works equally as a living-room side table

It fits real homes.

Bookmark in, glasses folded on the teak, lamp off. The book waits on the wavy top exactly where tomorrow night's chapter will find it, and the water glass sits on wood that will not ring the way a lacquered top does.

Six a.m., one reach

Six a.m., one reach

The alarm dies under a half-asleep hand and nothing rattles or slides — the water glass, the ring dish, and the phone all hold their ground on solid teak. Rounded corners spare a knuckle in the dark. Nine more minutes, then the day.

The small archive

The small archive

The lower drawer keeps the private inventory — passports, a watch, a folded stack of letters worth saving. It runs smooth and shuts flush, and in a house full of shared surfaces it stays the one drawer everyone knows not to open.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs across the top and down the wave-carved drawer fronts — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name, quiet enough not to fight a lamp at the bedside.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and the carved waves, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin — warm under a bare hand at six a.m. the way cold laminate never is.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the case stays square and both drawers slide true through the dry-winter furnace air that swells cheaper drawer fronts shut.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

On a bedside away from the sun, the gold only deepens. If a bright window ever pales the top over the years, a light sanding and fresh oil bring it back.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time and matched by tone across top, body, and both drawer fronts, so a bedside pair reads identical. Twisted or dull stock never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The wave fronts and tapered legs are traced from templates, then cut slightly proud of the line for the carving to follow.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

The carved waves and every rounded corner are sanded through successive grits until nothing catches a half-asleep hand at midnight.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker cycles both drawers and checks the stance before signing the piece out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How are the nightstands constructed?
Nightstands in this collection are solid teak down to the drawer boxes, with dovetailed corners — small casework built the way full-size dressers used to be. No particleboard means no swollen drawer fronts when a humid summer arrives.
Can I match the height to my bed?
Yes. Each nightstand is made to order, so the top can match your mattress height, and the depth can shrink for a narrow bedside wall. Pairs are built together from matching stock so the two read identical.
Is there any assembly?
Nightstands ship fully assembled — drawers fitted and waxed at the workshop. Unbox, place, and load the bedtime books; there is no hardware step and no diagram at all.
What care keeps them looking right?
Wipe with a slightly damp cloth, use a coaster under the water glass, and re-oil the top once a year. The drawer runners appreciate an occasional rub of paraffin wax, and a scuff spot-sands out at home rather than going to a shop.
How do nightstands ship?
Each nightstand is made to order and double-boxed with the drawer secured for transit. Pairs ship together, tracking is emailed when the boxes leave, and you should check the corners on arrival and note any damage before signing.
Can this wavy design work outside the bedroom?
Yes — the title says bedroom and living room for a reason. At sofa-arm height it serves as a carved side table, the two drawers keeping remotes and coasters out of sight. Order a pair from matching stock if one flanks the sofa and one the bed.
