These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly
Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Shipping & returns
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

This shelf does that shift without trying — a lit curve of teak and a few good spines — then turns back into the household's display wall at six. The boards dried three slow weeks in the kiln first, so the curved spans stay true under a full load.

Grain that reads quiet
Tight, straight grain follows the curved shelf faces end to end, and the integrated light rakes across it after dark — grain in relief is the whole evening show.
The finish nature applied
Teak's own oils meet hand-rubbed coats on every sweep of the frame. The low satin finish catches the light band without glare, and the piece arrives smelling of wood, not of a factory.
Density you can feel
At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with seasonal movement about half of oak's, the curved spans hold a full row of hardcovers flat through furnace winters and humid Augusts.
Golden now, silver whenever
Indoors the frame deepens toward honey-amber over the years — silver-grey needs outdoor sun and rain. The evening light band will not fade it; UV, not lamplight, is what moves teak's color.
From plank to piece.
The wood selection
Boards are pulled one at a time by selectors with thirty years at the stacks, matched by tone across the flowing frame — a lit shelf shows every mismatch, so none get through.
The shaping process
The freeform silhouette is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line for the fairing that gives each curve its final profile.
The hand refinement
Shelf faces and edges are sanded through five grits until every sweep runs continuous under an open palm, and the light channel is fitted flush.
The final inspection
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker burns in the light band, loads test weight, and checks joints and finish before the piece leaves.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Questions customers usually ask
How are the bookshelves constructed?
Solid teak from shelf to frame, with fixed shelves joined directly into the sides — no cam locks, no veneer skin. That construction is what keeps long curved spans from sagging under a full row of hardcovers, year after year, and lets the faces be sanded and re-oiled instead of replaced.
Can dimensions be adjusted to my wall?
Yes — height, width, and shelf spacing can be adjusted when you order. Measure your wall and ceiling first; we regularly build around baseboards, sloped ceilings, and awkward alcoves.
Should a bookshelf be anchored to the wall?
Taller bookshelves include an anti-tip strap and wall anchor, and we recommend using it, especially with children in the house. The strap installs into one stud in a few minutes and disappears behind the frame.
What care do loaded shelves need?
Dust with a dry cloth and give sun-facing decor an occasional rotation so the wood tones evenly. A thin annual coat of oil keeps the faces rich — wipe around the light channel with a dry cloth only.
How does a bookshelf arrive?
Bookshelves are made to order and ship crated, standing on a padded base with the back protected. Delivery is by appointment for large pieces — photograph the crate before the driver leaves, note anything on the receipt, and if damage got through, we make it right.
How does the integrated lighting work?
A low-heat ambient light strip is fitted into the frame at the workshop and wired to a single discreet cord. Plug it into a wall outlet — a smart plug or timer works well for an automatic evening glow — and route the cord behind the shelf.
