Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Wall lamp

The reading light that clears your nightstand

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A branch of light for the quiet end of the day.

The curve is drawn from a real branch, then a teak board is chosen whose grain already follows that line — stock that fights the curve gets culled at the layout bench. The finish is nothing but the wood's own oils, hand-rubbed deeper — no lacquer film, no new-furniture smell. It arrives smelling faintly of the woodshop, which is its own kind of proof.

Most bedroom light is a choice between overhead glare and another lamp crowding the water glass off the nightstand. This one hangs the light on the wall instead — a warm halo wide enough to read by, dim enough that a sleeping partner never surfaces. The nightstand keeps its space, and by day the branch is the one thing in the room people reach up to touch.

  • Reads in bed without a lamp stealing the water-glass spot
  • Wall-washed halo — dim enough for a sleeping partner, bright enough for print
  • Arrives fully wired, LED bulb included; fit your own plug or hardwire
  • Natural oil finish — no lacquer smell, nothing to off-gas
  • Solid teak sculpture by day, reading light after dark

It fits real homes.

Ten pages down

Ten pages down

10:40 on a work night, thermostat already dropped for sleep. The halo behind the branch holds one page-width of warm light, and the paperback gets ten more minutes before the switch clicks off an arm's reach away.

The late shift

The late shift

She gets home from the hospital at 12:30 and the branch is glowing low over the bed instead of the ceiling fixture blazing. Keys down, scrubs off, and the one already asleep never surfaces.

Six a.m., December

Six a.m., December

The alarm lands in full dark. The lamp comes on over the reading chair, warm against the frost on the window, and coffee gets twenty quiet minutes before the driveway needs scraping.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight grain runs wall plate to tip, so the branch reads as one calm line of teak. Under a raking morning sun the figure lifts into a soft ripple, never a patchwork.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak's own oils, hand-rubbed deeper — no lacquer film. The lamp arrives smelling like wood shavings, not chemicals, and warms to a low satin sheen under the LED glow.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

Roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, kiln-dried for twenty days before carving — the branch holds its line on the wall through furnace winters and humid Augusts alike.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors teak deepens toward honey-amber — it will not silver without outdoor sun and rain. A light sanding and a wipe of oil bring back day-one gold in twenty minutes.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time by selectors with thirty years at the lumber stacks, chosen for grain that can follow the branch's curve. Twisted or dull stock never becomes a lamp.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The branch profile is traced from a template, then bandsawn an eighth of an inch proud of the line — spare material for the handwork that shapes each curve.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Surfaces are sanded by hand through five grit steps until the branch feels smooth against an open palm, not merely from a step away.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The LED burns in overnight on a shop wall and the wiring is tested before the lamp is signed out of the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How does it mount, and is it hardwired or plug-in?
It mounts to the wall with the included bracket and hardware. The listing states hardwired or plug-in and that is confirmed before shipping: hardwired, it lands at a wall box and a licensed electrician makes the connection; plug-in, a discreet cord runs to the outlet and you fit a plug to match it. Either way it ships wired to US standards, with no veneer or particleboard core in the body.
What bulb does it use?
It arrives fully wired with its LED already in place, a warm tone sized to read by without waking the other side of the bed. LED draws little power and runs cool, so the socket never bakes the wood beside it.
Can the scale be matched to my wall?
Yes — each lamp is built after you order, so scale and proportion adjust to the spot. Send the wall height and where the bed or reading chair sits, and we size the branch to it before the build starts.
Will the wood dry out or warp near the bulb?
No. Every board is pulled by selectors with thirty years at the lumber stacks, then kiln-dried for twenty days at a controlled temperature, so it has done its moving before a single cut. Mounted flat with a cool LED behind it, the branch keeps its line through furnace winters and humid Augusts.
How do I care for it?
Dust with a dry cloth and, once or twice a year when the wood looks thirsty, wipe in a thin coat of oil — ten minutes, no refinisher, no products beyond the oil. There is no lacquer film to chip or cloud, so a scuff sands out by hand.
How does it ship?
Every lamp is made to order — the build starts when your order does — and packs in a foam-fitted box with the wiring secured and the corners protected, so nothing shifts in transit. It arrives ready to hang; photograph the box before the driver leaves if anything looks crushed, and tracking is sent the day it ships.
