Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece

Clean mid-century lines, carried by honest grain.

The proportions came first: our designers worked the height and overhang until the table sits right behind a sofa and right against a wall, both. The boards come next — teak matched by tone, already through twenty days of kiln drying — then the tapers are shaped with a block plane and oiled. The softened natural edge stays; a fully squared edge is yours for the asking.

The 1960s Danish credenzas still trading hard on the vintage market are the proof that teak survives sixty years of American heating — but most of what wears the mid-century label today is veneer over particleboard. This one is teak through the legs, aprons, and top; tap it anywhere. It gives the living room one clean horizontal, and it will not be the reason you redecorate.

The December bar

The console has been the bar since the twelfth — two parties down, one to go. Condensation rings from the punch bowl wipe off the oiled top each morning, and by the twenty-sixth the host finally exhales.

The condo edit

After thirty years in the house, the condo took half the furniture. This console made the truck; the big set didn't. One exceptional horizontal now does the work of three pieces, and a kid has already called dibs.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight grain runs the top and down each tapered leg — calm figure that keeps a mid-century line crisp, and reads best in low evening lamplight.

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and tapers until the gold turns satin — a surface that feels like warm stone under the palm, never like plastic.

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter and kiln-dried across twenty slow days, the top stays flat and the legs stay true when the furnace drops January humidity into the twenties.

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors, teak deepens toward amber rather than silvering — that takes outdoor rain and UV. Scuffs from years of keys and glasses spot-sand and re-oil in minutes, no refinisher.

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time by selectors with thirty years at the stacks, matched by tone and grain across top and legs before a single cut.

The shaping process

The mid-century profile is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — the tapers finished with a block plane, not a router bit.

The hand refinement

Edges and tapers are sanded by hand through five grits until the transition from flat to taper disappears under an open palm.

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the joints, sights the top under raking light, and signs the table out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

Questions customers usually ask

What are the console tables made from?

Solid teak throughout — top, aprons, tapered legs — often one continuous slab for the top. No veneer or particleboard anywhere, which is why the surface can be sanded and refinished for decades.

Do you build to fit narrow hallways?

Consoles are made to order, so length and depth adjust to your hallway or entry before the build starts. A narrow ten-inch depth for tight halls is one of our most common builds.

Will I need to assemble it?

Most consoles arrive assembled. Designs with sculptural bases ship in two parts that join with pre-fitted bolts — a ten-minute job for one person with the included key. No wordless diagrams, no leftover screw.

What care does a console need?

Dust it and wipe water promptly; re-oil once a year, about ten minutes with a rag. If a zipper or key leaves a mark, spot-sand and wipe oil back in — an oil finish repairs at home where lacquer cannot.

How is a console packed?

Every console is made to order and packed in a fitted crate or double-walled carton with rigid corner guards. Photograph the box on arrival and note any damage on the receipt — if transit went wrong, we make it right.

Are the edges squared or natural?

This design keeps a softened natural edge along the top, so the clean mid-century silhouette stays while the wood's organic line still shows. Prefer a fully squared edge? Ask when you order — each table is built after purchase.
