Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Handcrafted solid wood · Side table

The side table within arm's reach

The piece

Measured from the sofa arm.

A side table is a set of numbers before it is furniture: the 22-to-26-inch height of most sofa arms, the reach of a hand that never leaves the page, the footprint a small room can actually spare. Ours are built to those numbers in solid teak — and made to order, so the numbers can be yours.

In the living room the right height disappears into habit. The glass lands without a glance, the lamp sits where the light should fall, and a top barely wider than a dinner plate holds down its corner of the room like it was taped out on the floor plan first.

  • Top lands within an inch of most sofa arms
  • Holds the evening's drink, book, and reading glasses at once
  • Takes a full palm's lean without a wobble to report
  • Oil finish spot-repairs at home — no refinisher, ever
  • Footprint barely wider than a dinner plate for tight rooms

It fits real homes.

Fourth quarter

Super Bowl Sunday, fourth quarter, the seven-layer dip promoted to the side table like a trophy. A sweating bottle draws its ring on the corner while everyone yells at a replay. Monday it wipes away with the crumbs.

Sunday, four p.m.

Sunday, four p.m., the lamp at its warmest click. Tea and the library book land at exactly the height of the chair's arm — the detail nobody plans and everybody feels. One hour, no phone, one chapter over quota.

The cat's corner

The sunny end of the table has belonged to the cat since the week it arrived. In raking light the claw-taps show if you look for them; one weekend re-oil resets the surface, and the cat keeps the spot.

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

The grain

Honey and amber bands run the length of each plank. No two boards repeat, so your piece is the only one with this pattern.

The oils

Teak grows its own protective oils, and they carry the wood through dry winters and humid summers that crack lesser boards. Spills just need wiping up promptly.

The weight

Lift a corner and you feel dense, solid stock with no hollow frames or fillers. Kiln-dried before the build, it sits flat and stays put, even when the heat comes on.

The years ahead

Teak deepens toward a richer brown as it lives with you. A wipe of teak oil twice a year holds the tone you chose.

From plank to piece.

Select

Planks graded by practiced eyes, then kiln-dried slowly until they settle.

Mill

Each board cut, squared, and matched to the pattern.

Shape

Joined and eased with hand tools after the machines have done the rough work.

Finish

Sanded fine, then oiled until the grain reads deep.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How are these small tables built?
The tables in this collection are solid wood top to leg — small pieces, but built with the same joinery as our dining tables, because side tables get leaned on, sat on, and moved constantly.
Can the height be matched to my sofa?
Yes — heights are made to order, which matters most here. Send us your sofa's arm height and we will build the table two inches under it, or level, as you prefer.
Is any assembly needed?
End and side tables ship fully assembled in almost every design. The exceptions arrive with a single bolt-on base and take five minutes with the included key.
How do I keep the finish even?
Wipe with a slightly damp cloth and dry; coasters under sweating glasses keep the finish even. Re-oil once a year, more often for tables that live by sunny windows.
How do they ship?
Each table is made to order, wrapped, and double-boxed with corner protection. Tracking is emailed at dispatch — most side tables travel by standard parcel carrier.
What height should I look for next to my sofa or reading chair?
Within an inch or two of the arm — most sofa arms run 22 to 26 inches — so a glass lands without your eyes leaving the page or the game. Measure your own arm height before ordering, and because every table is made to order, the height can usually be matched to your seat exactly. That inch is the difference between a table you use and a table you reach past.
Will sweating glasses wreck the oiled top?
The oil finish is the forgiving kind. Wipe spills when you see them and hand icy glasses a coaster when you remember. A white ring that does set in lifts with a cloth and a warm dry iron in about thirty seconds, and a light sanding plus a wipe of oil erases anything deeper — a repair you do at home in minutes, which a lacquered veneer top can never offer.
