Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Shipping & returns
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Our designers spent their time on angles you feel rather than see — the pitch of the back, the open contours that keep a small chair from sitting small. An artisan selects the oak boards, shapes the flowing frame by hand, and fits the upholstered seat and backrest so the solid structure stays visible. Real mortise-and-tenon joints, not hanger bolts.
The chairs that loosen fastest are the ones held together by thin leg bolts you retighten every month. This frame is joined at the seat-to-leg and back-to-seat corners the way chairs lasted fifty years — glued, clamped, cured, no wobble to grow into. On a porch or in a sunroom it becomes the seat guests drift toward and stay a round longer in.

Finishes without fuss
Oak's even, tannin-rich grain takes oil cleanly across arms and legs without blotching — a gentle finish that keeps the frame warm and honest, and dry to the hand even after a humid afternoon on the porch.
Barrel-grade structure
Janka hardness near 1,350 and tyloses-plugged pores — the closed-cell structure that made oak the wood of whiskey barrels — carry daily sitting without complaint, and resent a radiator's dry heat far less than a bolted frame would.
Deepens with the decades
Oak ages by gaining color and character, not wear. The arms where hands rest look more settled at year ten than the day the chair arrived, warmed a shade by a decade of afternoon sun.
From plank to piece.
The wood selection
Frame boards are pulled one at a time by a selector with decades at the lumber stacks, for strength and matched figure. Stock with twist, checks, or dull grain never qualifies.
The shaping process
Each flowing rail is traced from templates, then bandsawn a hair proud of the line, leaving material for the handwork on every curve.
The hand refinement
Arms and contours are sanded through five successive grits until they feel right against an open palm, not merely look right.
The final inspection
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the joints for zero wobble and the seat fit before the chair ships.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

- Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
- Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
- Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.
Crated for freight
Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.
Honest returns
30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

How are the chairs built to last?
Every chair here is solid hardwood with mortise-and-tenon joinery at the stress points — the seat-to-leg and back-to-seat joints that decide whether a chair lasts five years or fifty. No hanger bolts to work loose and retighten.
How big is this chair, and is the seat cushioned?
This build measures 20 inches wide, 26 tall, and 20 deep, with an upholstered seat and backrest over the sculpted solid-oak frame. Seat height can be tailored when you order, since each is made to order.
Do the chairs require assembly?
Chairs ship fully assembled. Joints are glued, clamped, and cured at the workshop — nothing for you to bolt together, and no wobble that starts its life at a cam lock.
What upkeep does a wooden chair need?
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry. Check the floor glides stay snug, and refresh the oil on arms and seat edges yearly where hands rest most; keep the chair a foot or two off a radiator so one side does not dry faster.
How are chairs and sets shipped?
Each chair is made to order, wrapped at every edge, and double-boxed. Pairs and sets ship together where possible; photograph the box before the driver leaves, and tracking is sent at dispatch.
