Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Sculpted-door credenza

Doors carved to catch the light

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A credenza whose doors are the artwork.

The designers kept the case a plain rectangle so the doors could do the talking. The wave relief is cut into solid teak door blanks — carved, not applied molding — pass after pass, then every ridge is sanded by hand until shadow moves across the front like water. Grain is matched so the pattern reads as one motion across both doors.

Most sculpted fronts in this category are pressed veneer that chips to sawdust at the first corner knock. These doors are teak the full depth of the relief — sand them in year thirty and you find more teak, from boards kiln-dried twenty days so the reveal never shifts. Behind them the living room's loose ends disappear; on top, the lamp finds the ridges every evening.

  • Hide the clutter — concealed bays swallow chargers, mail, game-night mess
  • Smooth teak top stages the lamp or the evening bar
  • Relief carved into solid teak — no trim to peel
  • Balanced proportions anchor a sofa wall or dining wall
  • Hand-fitted doors close soft with an even gap

It fits real homes.

Five o'clock light

Five o'clock light

The winter sun drops low and rakes the carved doors, turning them to ridgelines and shadow for twenty minutes. You have started timing your coffee break to it, and nobody at work knows why.

The pre-party sweep

The pre-party sweep

Doorbell in ten minutes. Chargers, mail, and the puzzle in progress vanish behind the sculpted doors, the top gets one wipe, and the room composes itself. The credenza has kept the household's secrets for years.

New Year's Eve bar

New Year's Eve bar

Eleven-forty, bottles and glasses lined along the teak top, the carved doors glowing under the one lamp left on. Somebody makes the midnight pour here — same spot as last year, on purpose.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight grain runs beneath the carved waves and across the smooth top, so the relief reads as movement in the wood itself. Trace one ridge end to end and the figure never breaks.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils; we hand-rub more into every ridge and hollow of the relief until a fingertip glides the whole door. It arrives smelling of wood, not lacquer, and the satin surface never reads as plastic under a raking lamp.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, the case stays square and the doors swing true — twenty days in a temperature-controlled kiln means the reveal holds even when forced-air heat runs all winter.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors these doors will not silver — the ridges deepen toward caramel where daylight crosses them, so the relief gains contrast with age. A light sanding and fresh oil reset the whole front anytime.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time at the lumber stacks and matched so grain runs as a family across both door panels. Dull stock never makes a door.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The case is joined square while the wave relief is cut into the door blanks, each pass left slightly proud for the handwork ahead.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Every carved ridge is sanded by hand through five grits until a palm can travel the full door without catching an edge.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker hangs the doors, checks the reveal against a card's thickness, and signs the piece out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How is a sideboard built here?
Full solid-wood casework — top, doors, and shelves, no particleboard panel anywhere — with doors fitted by hand at the workshop so they close with a soft, even gap. That is why the carved front can be sanded and re-oiled for decades instead of touched up and hidden.
Can the interior be laid out for my use?
Each credenza is made to order: length, interior layout, and leg height all adjust. Wine storage, plate racks, and cable openings for a media wall are common additions — tell us what will live inside and we shape the bays to it.
What happens at delivery?
It arrives fully assembled — doors hung, shelves in. Two people should carry it; photograph the crate before the driver leaves and note anything on the receipt. Once placed, the adjustable levelers square the doors on an uneven floor in minutes.
How do I clean the carved door panels?
A soft dry brush or cloth run along the ridges once a week keeps dust out of the relief. The wave carving is solid teak, not applied trim — a yearly wipe of oil across doors and top keeps light playing across the surface, ten minutes with a rag.
How does a sideboard travel?
Every piece is made to order and travels freight in a fitted crate, interior braced and carved doors padded face-in. We send tracking, schedule the window with you, and if transit does damage, we make it right.
