Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Wall art

A forest carved deep into solid teak

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A wall that holds a forest.

Every trunk in the treeline is cut to its own depth, so the forest shifts as you cross the room. Relief this deep is only possible in solid wood — the boards are chosen for straight, quiet teak grain, then dried through a twenty-day kiln cycle so the carved scene holds its shape when the furnace comes on.

Most walls above a sofa end up with a framed print everyone has already scrolled past somewhere. This is the other route: a scene with real shadow, cut by hand, that no other living room repeats. Some weeks the owner stops noticing it — then the light shifts at five o'clock and the forest is new again.

  • Fills the wall above a sofa without a gallery of small frames
  • Real carved depth — the scene changes as daylight moves
  • Hangs on two screws with workshop-fitted hardware
  • No glass, no glare, nothing to reflect the TV
  • Care is a dry cloth, once a month

It fits real homes.

Lamplight at dusk

Lamplight at dusk

A January evening, furnace humming, one floor lamp on. The light rakes across the carved trunks and the whole treeline throws shadow. The forest at seven on a winter night is a different scene than it was at noon.

First wall claimed

First wall claimed

New house, August, the sofa still three weeks out. The panel goes up first — two screws, one level — and the empty room stops echoing like a rental. The housewarming happens on folding chairs, under a forest.

Sunday under the trees

Sunday under the trees

Sunday, 4 pm, coffee going cold on the arm of the couch, no screen on. The carved woodland overhead does what the window to the yard cannot always manage — it stays calm, in every season.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight teak grain runs behind the carved treeline, and under a raking lamp the low ridges catch light the way no printed panel can — the wood itself throws a second, smaller shadow.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils; we hand-rub more into every carved contour. Lean close and the panel smells faintly of leather and sawdust — never of varnish.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with seasonal movement about half that of oak, the panel hangs flat through furnace-dry Januaries and humid Augusts alike.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Out of hard afternoon sun the gold holds for decades; if a bright wall lightens it a shade over the years, a light re-oiling deepens the carved faces again in an afternoon.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are matched by tone and grain at the lumber rack so the carved forest reads as one scene, not a patchwork of planks.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The treeline is traced, then carved slightly proud of the line under a raking work light — the only light in which true depth shows.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Every carved contour is sanded by hand through five successive grits until the ridges feel smooth against an open palm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks depth, hanging hardware, and finish under a raking lamp before it leaves.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What is the wall art made from?
Solid-wood panels, carved and joined — never a print, never a veneer film. Relief this deep only exists because the wood is solid all the way through; you can feel the chisel depth with a fingertip, and the surface can be re-oiled for decades.
Can a piece be scaled to my wall?
Yes — each piece is carved after you order, so dimensions scale to your wall. Send a photo of the space with rough measurements and we will suggest proportions before any wood is cut.
How does it hang?
Hanging hardware is fitted at the workshop — keyhole slots or French cleats depending on weight — with matching anchors in the box. Most pieces hang on two screws in under ten minutes.
Does wooden wall art need maintenance?
Dust with a soft dry brush or cloth. On a wall with hard afternoon sun, teak lightens slowly and evenly over years — standard glass blocks most UV but not all — so pick a shaded wall or accept a gentle mellowing. Nothing else is required.
How does wall art ship?
Each piece is made to order and ships flat in a rigid, foam-lined carton with corner protection and the hardware taped inside. Photograph the carton before opening if anything looks crushed — and tracking is emailed the day it ships.
How large is the forest panel?
Because each panel is carved to order, the forest scene scales to your wall — a single wide panel over a sofa, or a taller format for a stair wall. Send your wall measurements and we will suggest proportions.
