Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Outdoor bench

Weather does its worst. The bench stays.

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A bench that keeps every season's company.

No two of these benches repeat: the maker follows the branch and live edge each trunk offers, so the backrest keeps the shape of the tree it was. The teak is dried twenty days in a controlled kiln before shaping, and from there its own oils and silica — the chemistry of a century of ship decks — handle the weather.

Most patio furniture spends winter under a tarp and still comes out apologizing. This bench stays out. Left bare it silvers to a driftwood grey; a spring scrub and fresh oil bring the gold back anytime — the finish is a choice, not a chore. Either way, the owner never drags a cover across the yard again.

  • Lives outside year-round — no cover, no tarp
  • Seats two on a porch, path, or patio
  • Silver-grey or golden: your call, reversible either way
  • Stainless-steel fasteners shrug off coastal salt air
  • Doubles indoors as a bold entry bench

It fits real homes.

Coffee on the porch

Coffee on the porch

Late October, first frost on the grass, and the first mug of the day still goes out to the bench. The teak is cold for a minute, then warmer than any metal chair ever managed.

The garden-glove break

The garden-glove break

A May Saturday, halfway through the weeding, and there is a seat waiting between the beds — no cushion to fetch, no cover to peel off. A passing shower changes nothing but the smell of the air.

Talking till dark

Talking till dark

July, the neighbor leans on the fence, then comes around. The bench holds the conversation past the porch light, the way it has every summer since it arrived.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Beneath the live edges, tight, straight teak grain runs the seat's length — the calm figure under all that wild branching form, and the reason rain beads instead of soaking in.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak's own oils are the weatherproofing; we hand-rub more into the seat, and the bench asks for no paint or sealer outdoors — in salt air the hardware corrodes before the wood complains.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter with minimal shrinkage, the bench stays sound through freeze, thaw, and full August sun — and never splinters when it is wet.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left outside, the seat silvers over its first year — a surface layer thin as paper. A spring scrub and fresh oil bring back the gold anytime; strength never changes either way.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Trunks and boards are chosen for sound branches and live edges worth keeping — each bench starts with a tree's own shape, graded at the stack.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The seat and branching backrest are cut proud of their lines, preserving the winding forms the handwork will refine.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Live edges and branch junctions are sanded by hand through five grits until bare legs and open palms meet only smooth wood.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats; the maker rocks, loads, and levels the bench on an uneven floor before it leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How do these handle full outdoor exposure?
Built from plantation-grown teak, the benches in this collection are made for full exposure — sun, rain, and snow — because teak's natural oils and silica do the protecting themselves. One honest note: commit to full exposure or seal it; a half-covered porch grays patchily.
What sizes are available?
Lengths are made to order. A 48-inch bench seats two comfortably on a porch; 72 inches handles the whole family along a fire pit. Custom depths are available — tell us the spot and we size to it.
Does it need assembly or anchoring?
Most benches arrive fully assembled with stainless-steel fasteners throughout — the grade coastal buyers check for. Rated conservatively past 500 pounds, they can sit on grass, pavers, or deck boards without any anchoring.
What outdoor care is required?
Hose off pollen and dirt each spring with mild soap. Left bare, the teak silvers gracefully; if you prefer gold, a light clean and one coat of teak sealer each spring — skip hardware-store 'teak oil', which contains no teak oil and feeds mildew. Neither choice affects strength.
How are outdoor benches shipped?
Outdoor benches ship made to order, boxed or crated by length, with hardware pre-installed. Check the packaging before the driver leaves and note anything on the receipt; freight-size pieces are scheduled with you before delivery, with tracking provided.
Is every branch bench really one of a kind?
Yes. Each bench follows the live edges and branching of the trunk it came from, so yours will differ from the photos in form, not in quality. We can share pictures of your actual bench before it ships.
