Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Handcrafted solid wood · Mailbox

The mailbox the whole street knows

The piece

The wood ship decks trusted first.

A mailbox takes what no indoor furniture ever faces: August sun, January sleet, and every soaking in between. Teak is the one furniture wood with centuries of proof out there — its own oils and natural silica are why ship decks used it, and why in salt air the hardware corrodes before the wood ever complains.

The build follows the same logic: joints fitted to shed water, edges rounded so rain slides off instead of pooling, an oil finish that beads the first storm. At the front walk it stands through all four seasons doing one job, twice a day, without asking for much back.

  • Holds letters, catalogs, and small parcels in a dry interior
  • Lid opens one-handed and closes snug against blowing rain
  • Exterior oil finish beads water; refresh in ten minutes yearly
  • Mounts to a standard post or wall — tell us your setup
  • Sculptural enough to anchor the front-yard composition alone

It fits real homes.

Saturday's slow walk

Saturday, 8 am, coffee still in hand, the long way down the drive. The lid opens with a soft wooden knock and the week's letters wait in a dry, wood-scented dark. Slowest errand of the week, on purpose.

The thick envelope

A March afternoon, senior year. The envelope everyone has been waiting on is either thin or thick, and the walk from the box to the porch takes a whole family's held breath with it. The mailbox keeps its poker face.

December's full house

By mid-December the box fills daily — red envelopes, gold ones, a small package wedged upright. Snow stacks on the lid like frosting, and the wood underneath goes on doing its work at fourteen degrees.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

The grain

Honey and amber bands run the length of each plank. No two boards repeat, so your piece is the only one with this pattern.

The oils

Teak grows its own protective oils, and they carry the wood through dry winters and humid summers that crack lesser boards. Spills just need wiping up promptly.

The weight

Lift a corner and you feel dense, solid stock with no hollow frames or fillers. Kiln-dried before the build, it sits flat and stays put, even when the heat comes on.

The years ahead

Teak deepens toward a richer brown as it lives with you. A wipe of teak oil twice a year holds the tone you chose.

From plank to piece.

Select

Planks graded by practiced eyes, then kiln-dried slowly until they settle.

Mill

Each board cut, squared, and matched to the pattern.

Shape

Joined and eased with hand tools after the machines have done the rough work.

Finish

Sanded fine, then oiled until the grain reads deep.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How does it mount — will it fit my existing post?
Each piece is built to sit on a standard post or mount flat to a wall or fence. Because every box is made to order, tell us your setup when you order and the back is prepared accordingly, with pilot-hole guidance included. Exterior-grade hardware comes in the box — outdoors, fasteners fail before teak does.
Will the wood really hold up outdoors year after year?
This is the environment teak was proven in — ship decks, not showrooms. Its natural oils and silica shed water, and the boards are kiln-dried for twenty days before carving, so the seasons swing around wood that has already finished moving. In full sun it will slowly silver unless you seal it each spring; either look is correct, and a light sanding reverses the gray whenever you change your mind.
