Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Console table

Farmhouse calm for the front hall

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

The first thing the house says is welcome.

Built from solid teak with its edges and figure left honest, this console keeps proportions the designer worked out for real entries — thirty inches of surface on a twelve-inch depth. Solid wood top and legs, no printed veneer over a fiberboard core; the artisan selects each board for grain worth looking at, then shapes, sands, and oils it by hand.

Most hall tables are the piece you replace after the second move, when a corner chips and the particleboard shows through. This teak dried twenty days in the kiln, so the top stays flat and the legs stay square through years of forced-air winters — the last entry table you buy, not the next one you toss. People coming in rest a hand on the top almost without thinking; the wood is why they linger.

  • Clutter at the door? A landing zone for keys and mail.
  • Tight hall? Twelve-inch depth keeps the path walkable.
  • Lamp or seasonal flowers? A steady base holds them.
  • Blank wall behind the sofa? It works as a backdrop.
  • Daily use? The top takes hands, bags, and bowls.

It fits real homes.

Seasons on one surface

Seasons on one surface

Gourds in October, pine sprigs in December, cut lilacs in May. The console carries each season's small display, and the family notices the day it changes. The oiled top wipes clean where a wet vase sweats overnight.

The going-out check

The going-out check

Wallet, phone, keys from the bowl — the last stop before the door, 7:50 every single morning. The routine is ten seconds long and it happens here, on teak worn smooth at the corner nearest the door.

Left on for late arrivals

Left on for late arrivals

One warm lamp on the console stays lit for whoever comes home last. From the driveway on a February night, that glow through the sidelight says somebody thought of you.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the full length of the tabletop — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. A palm laid flat by the door finds the growth lines before the eye does.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and legs, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin — golden teak against soft creams, arriving with the smell of wood, not chemicals.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the top stays flat and the legs stay square even as a dry entry window and winter heat pull the air thin.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

By a bright entry window the surface tones slowly toward silver-grey — a change in color only, not damage. A light sanding and fresh oil restore the gold anytime.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

After twenty days in the kiln, boards are pulled one at a time and matched by tone across top and base; stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

Top and legs are traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that trues every edge.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Surfaces are sanded by hand through successive grits until the tabletop's edges feel right against an open palm, not merely look right.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks level, joints, and finish before the console is signed out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What are the console tables made from?
Each console in this collection is cut from solid teak — often a single continuous slab for the top — then hand-finished so the grain, knots, and natural edges stay part of the piece. Solid through, so a chipped corner reveals more teak, never particleboard.
Do you build to fit narrow hallways?
Consoles are made to order, so length and depth adjust to your hallway or entry. A narrow ten-inch depth for tight halls is one of our most common builds.
Will I need to assemble it?
Most consoles arrive assembled. Designs with sculptural bases ship in two parts that join with pre-fitted bolts — a ten-minute job for one person with the included key.
What care does a console need?
Dust with a soft cloth and wipe up water from vases and umbrellas promptly. An annual oiling keeps the top ready for the keys, mail, and hands it greets daily; a dry winter may ask for it sooner.
How is a console packed?
Every console is made to order and packed in a fitted crate or double-walled carton with rigid corner guards. Tracking is emailed to you the day it ships.
What size is this console?
As shown it measures 30 inches wide, 30 inches high, and 12 inches deep — sized to greet a doorway without crowding it. Custom lengths and depths are available at order, since each console is built after purchase.
