What is a shoe bench built to do?
Shoe benches in this collection are solid teak with a seat rated for a grown adult dropping down to tie laces, plus a slatted shelf below that lets wet shoes dry instead of pooling water on a solid panel.
What widths do you make?
Widths are made to order — a 30-inch bench for a couple's entry, 48 inches for a family mudroom with a shelf per row of shoes. Tell us your hallway and we build to the inch.
Does it arrive ready to use?
Yes. Benches arrive fully assembled and rated conservatively above 300 pounds, so sitting, standing kids, and dropped gym bags are all within an ordinary day's work — it comes off the truck as a finished bench, no allen key, no leftover screw.
How do I keep it clean by the door?
Brush grit off the shelf weekly in winter — trapped road sand acts like sandpaper and is what wears a finish fastest. A damp cloth handles the rest, and a yearly wipe of oil keeps the seat rich where you sit down every day.
How is it shipped?
Each shoe bench is made to order, blanket-wrapped, corner-protected, and boxed for parcel or light freight. Photograph the carton before the driver leaves if it looks crushed, and tracking is emailed to you as your order leaves the workshop.
How many pairs fit on this size?
At 32 inches wide with a 14-inch depth, the lower rack holds four to five adult pairs in a row, with kids' shoes doubling up easily. Need more? This design is made to order, so a longer build or a second shelf is a simple request.
