Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.
These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
The designers sized the seat for a grown adult dropping down to tie laces — eighteen inches high, thirty-two wide — with a slatted rack below that keeps pairs off the floor. An artisan selects the teak boards, keeps the live edges honest, and shapes each corner by hand, joining solid wood throughout with no particleboard rack to sag under wet boots.
The entry used to be a pile-up: shoes underfoot, a chair buried in coats, someone hopping on one leg by the door. The bench quietly runs the place instead. Teak dried twenty days in the kiln stays flat under years of hard sitting, the doorway stays clear, and the first thing guests see now reads like the home of someone who has it together.
Two kids, four shoes, ninety seconds. One sits, one leans, sneakers come off the lower rack in the right order for once, and the door closes on time. The bench takes the drop of two backpacks without a wobble to grow into.
Saturday soccer ends at the bench: cleats parked on the rack, wet socks balled beside them, the hallway floor spared again. The oiled teak wipes clean before dinner, and the trapped grit gets brushed off the slats before it can grind at the finish.
A friend sits to lace up, keeps talking, and stays another ten minutes on a seat that never creaks. The bench holds the conversation as comfortably as it holds the coats piled beside her, and nobody is in a hurry to stand.

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of the seat board — the calm, consistent figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. Bare knees find no ridge or splinter at the edge, only oiled wood worn smooth by hand.
Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the seat and rack slats, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin that never feels like plastic — and shrugs off the road salt and slush that a lacquered entry bench would cloud over.
At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the seat stays flat under years of sitting down hard. Two feet from the entry heat vent it holds its shape through the driest forced-air January.
Indoors the teak keeps its honey tone and deepens slowly; only outdoor sun and rain turn it silver-grey. Either way the change is surface-thin — a light sanding and fresh oil bring the bench back to gold whenever daily traffic dulls it.
Boards are pulled one at a time and matched by tone across seat and rack, then kiln-dried twenty days. Twisted or dull stock never becomes a bench.
Seat and legs are traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud — leaving material for the handwork on every live edge.
The seat and rack slats are sanded through successive grits until edges feel right against the backs of bare knees.
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker sits, rocks, and loads the rack before the bench ships.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.
