Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Wall tree bookshelf

A tree that grows in the corner

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

Real branches, shaped into the quietest corner of the room.

Every one of these bookcases starts as actual tree branches, chosen for the way they fork and reach. Boards and limbs are picked by hands with thirty years at the lumber stacks, dried twenty days in a controlled kiln so the wood finishes moving before assembly, then sanded smooth and oiled until the teak grain glows. The designer maps a 70-by-70-inch spread into an inside corner most rooms leave to dust.

A drywall corner usually swallows itself — a floor lamp, a drift of dust, nothing earning the square footage. This claims it, anchored into studs on both walls so a full row of hardcovers never tests the mounts, low branches set where a two-year-old reaches a bedtime book. Real branches mean your tree's reach differs from the photo — the proof no factory stamped it out.

  • Turns a dead inside corner into working storage
  • Branches hold books, trailing plants, and framed photos
  • Low limbs sit at child height for nursery reading
  • Reads as sculpture from across the room
  • 70-by-70-inch spread wraps both corner walls

It fits real homes.

Bedtime, three books

Bedtime, three books

The nightly negotiation starts at the lowest branch — one more story, then one more. Small hands reach their own shelf at bath-time's end, and the pile that hit the floor at eight sorts itself back by morning.

The corner working

The corner working

For two years that corner held a floor lamp and dust. Now paperbacks climb the limbs, a fern sits in the fork, and the armchair beside it finally earns the word reading. Sunday afternoon lands there without a phone.

Tracing a limb

Tracing a limb

New guests do the same thing every time: pause mid-sentence, run a hand along a limb worn satin-smooth, and ask whether it came from a real tree. That it did is the part the host likes best.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of every branch and shelf face — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. Under a nursery lamp it turns honey, not orange.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. Hand-rubbed coats deepen the golden tone to a warm satin a child's palm meets smooth, never sticky — the faint sweet-wood smell fading in a week, no chemical note behind it.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the shelves stay flat and true under a full row of hardcovers, winter forced-air heat and all.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left alone, the branches would weather to a refined silver-grey — a surface change only, and one indoor air never triggers. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the gold back anytime.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Branches are chosen one at a time for the way they fork, matched with teak shelf stock of the same tone, then dried twenty days in a controlled kiln before any joinery.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The corner layout is traced full size, then each limb is cut slightly proud of the line for the handwork ahead.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Every limb and shelf edge is sanded through successive grits until it feels right against an open palm, bark to ledge.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks every shelf seat and mount point before it leaves.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What exactly is a wall tree bookshelf?
Each wall tree is cut from solid wood into a branching form whose limbs are the shelves — a piece that reads as sculpture from the sofa and works as storage up close.
Can I choose the height and spread?
Yes. Height, spread, and branch count are made to order — a six-foot tree for a child's reading corner, or a nine-foot spread across a living-room wall.
How does it mount to the wall?
The tree mounts in sections on included hardware, anchored into studs at marked points. A paper template locates every screw; two people make quick work of the larger spreads.
How do I care for it once loaded?
Dust the limbs when you dust the books and re-oil exposed edges once a year — twenty minutes, no specialist. Rearranging the books now and then lets light tone the wood evenly, and a kiln-dried teak frame holds its shape through a dry, forced-air winter.
How does it ship?
Wall trees ship made to order in flat, sectioned cartons with templates and hardware packed first on top. Tracking follows the shipment from the workshop to your door.
How does the corner version fit two walls?
This design spans an inside corner, anchoring into studs on both walls across its 70-inch height and 70-inch spread. Because real branches are used, your tree's exact reach will differ slightly from the photos — that is the point.
