These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly
Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Shipping & returns
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Our designers tuned the recline and arm height around real reading posture; the artisan shapes each member by hand and finishes it in oil you can renew yourself.
A chair tells the truth around year three, when lesser joints start answering every shift of weight. These stay silent: the oak spends twenty days in a temperature-controlled kiln before the first cut, so the tenons hold snug in their mortises through furnace winters. The corner becomes a destination — and whoever claimed the chair first never quite gives it up.

Oak ages by gaining color, not wear. The armrests where hands land every evening will read a shade warmer at year ten — and a winter of forced-air heat will not open a joint that was dried right.
From plank to piece.
The wood selection
Boards are pulled one at a time and matched by tone and grain across arms, legs, and rails — read by selectors with thirty years at the lumber stacks. Twisted or dull stock never makes the cut.
The shaping process
Each curve is traced from templates, then bandsawn a pencil width proud of the line, leaving material for the handwork that gives the frame its final flow.
The hand refinement
Arms and contours are sanded by hand through five grits until they feel right under a resting forearm, not merely look right across the room.
The final inspection
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker racks the frame on a flat bench, checks every joint, and sits in the chair before it is signed out.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.
Questions customers usually ask
How are the chairs built to last?
Solid hardwood with mortise-and-tenon joinery at the seat-to-leg and back-to-seat joints — the points that decide whether a chair lasts five years or fifty. The stock does its twenty days in the kiln before any joint is cut, so the fit it leaves with is the fit it keeps.
Can seat height or finish be customized?
Seat height and finish tone can be tailored when you order. If your reading corner runs tight or your table sits tall, send the measurements and we will build the chair to the spot instead of asking the spot to adapt.
Do the chairs require assembly?
Chairs ship fully assembled — glued, clamped, and cured at the workshop. No cam locks, no wordless diagrams, and no wobble that starts its life in a hardware bag.
What upkeep does a wooden chair need?
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry. Refresh the oil on arms and seat edges once a year where hands rest most — a ten-minute job — and give heat vents and radiators a two-foot berth. Forced-air winters, not nightly use, are what age a chair.
How are chairs and sets shipped?
Each chair is made to order, wrapped at every edge, and double-boxed. Photograph the carton if it arrives crushed and note it with the carrier — if anything is wrong, we make it right. Tracking is sent at dispatch.
Is the seat upholstered, and can the fabric be chosen?
Yes — this design pairs the sculpted oak frame with a padded, upholstered seat and backrest built for long stays, not perching. Fabric tone can be discussed when you order, so the cushion sits well with the room it is joining.
