Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Handcrafted solid wood · Console table

The console table that catches every homecoming

The piece

The last entryway table you buy.

If the last one was a flat-pack box that wobbled by year two and left with the movers, this is the correction: a solid teak top on wood-to-wood joinery, shallow enough to keep the walkway clear, heavy enough to stay planted when a loaded work bag lands on it. When the finish dulls, ten minutes of oil brings it back.

In the entryway it goes to work the first evening — keys in the bowl, mail in a stack, a lamp lit before dark. It will still be doing that job when the sofa has been replaced twice, because oiled teak sands back to new at home and particleboard leaves in a dumpster.

  • Keys, mail, and the leash stop here instead of spreading through the house
  • Shallow depth keeps a full walkway clear at the door
  • Arrives finished — off the truck as a table, no allen key
  • Oiled teak wipes dry after wet gloves and snow melt
  • Steady base for the lamp that greets whoever gets home last

It fits real homes.

Seven-forty, found gloves

Seven-forty on a school morning: gloves dug from the basket, a permission slip signed against the top, one shoe still missing. The console holds the whole scramble together, and the door closes on time. Barely.

Bar duty since the twelfth

December 26th. The console has poured drinks at three parties in two weeks, and the punch bowl left condensation rings on the oiled teak. They wipe away with the crumbs, and the host finally exhales.

July 31st, the truck

Moving day. The movers wrap the console in blankets like it matters, because it does. The particleboard bookcase stays at the curb with a FREE sign — its third move was one too many.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

The grain

Honey and amber bands run the length of each plank. No two boards repeat, so your piece is the only one with this pattern.

The oils

Teak grows its own protective oils, and they carry the wood through dry winters and humid summers that crack lesser boards. Spills just need wiping up promptly.

The weight

Lift a corner and you feel dense, solid stock with no hollow frames or fillers. Kiln-dried before the build, it sits flat and stays put, even when the heat comes on.

The years ahead

Teak deepens toward a richer brown as it lives with you. A wipe of teak oil twice a year holds the tone you chose.

From plank to piece.

Select

Planks graded by practiced eyes, then kiln-dried slowly until they settle.

Mill

Each board cut, squared, and matched to the pattern.

Shape

Joined and eased with hand tools after the machines have done the rough work.

Finish

Sanded fine, then oiled until the grain reads deep.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What are the console tables made from?
Each console in this collection is cut from solid wood — often a single continuous slab for the top — then hand-finished so the grain, knots, and natural edges remain part of the piece.
Do you build to fit narrow hallways?
Consoles are made to order, so length and depth adjust to your hallway or entry. A narrow ten-inch depth for tight halls is one of our most common builds.
Will I need to assemble it?
Most consoles arrive assembled. Designs with sculptural bases ship in two parts that join with pre-fitted bolts — a ten-minute job for one person with the included key.
What care does a console need?
Dust with a soft cloth and wipe up water from vases and umbrellas promptly. An annual oiling keeps the top ready for the keys, mail, and hands it greets daily.
How is a console packed?
Every console is made to order and packed in a fitted crate or double-walled carton with rigid corner guards. Tracking is emailed to you the day it ships.
How much room does a console actually need?
Plan on 30 to 33 inches of height — near counter height, right for a resting hand — and 12 to 16 inches of depth, leaving at least 36 inches of clear walkway in front. Tape the footprint on the floor before you order; because each piece is made to order, dimensions can be adjusted to your wall.
The front door opens on it all winter — will the wood move or crack?
Fast-dried wood would. Our boards are chosen by selectors with thirty years of experience, then spend twenty days in a kiln at controlled temperature, so the moisture is out and the movement is over before the first cut. Teak also moves about half as much as oak. Keep it a couple of feet from a floor register and it holds its lines through a Chicago January.
